The Ultimate Suggestion - Filters

Ok, as my last suggestion has been quite a success, I thought I would now deliver to the entire community, it's players, MODs, GMs etc: The Ultimate Suggestion.

The ultimate suggestion is simple to explain, however will require some editing as thus there are many pros, and a few small cons, however let us endear, and move forth.

*** I would like to request that you read this thoroughly, it will be worth it, although skip to the bottom if you are utterly lazy ***

Ultimate Suggestion - Power To The People: Filters

The competitive players in crossfire essentially already have everything they want / need to play with, that is, basic kit, basic weapons, few or no extras. If they were not happy with the game - They would not play it! Adding new content as such is not something which is desperately needed by this side of the community or wanted in many cases.

This side of the community want to test their game skills vs. other's game skill. They want it to be fair and even, and as it happens, great job already Smilegate and Z8 - Crossfire is awesome, we really do love it!

HOWEVER -

What is causing the problem at present?

The fact that people are subjected to elements of the game they do not appreciate and in some cases utterly loath. This is the reason why the crossfire community is found so often full of hatred. Notice if you will the vast and numerous quantities of forums posts and game comments about the following:

M12, Kriss, SPOP, Armor, STAR, Scar Light - Just to name a few

The list goes far far far beyond this however right there you are seeing at present the main topics of hate threads by competitive and even public casual gamers in CF. This is a reoccurring fight topic in public games but is on an epic scale in clan games.

Of course I understand also that there is an audience in CF which adore these elements of hate, and it is generally this side of the community who are the ones to appreciate the new patch additions of the Korean based culture such as 1/2 naked girls in pajamas etc, over powered spray guns and bunny outfits. They are 100% within their rights to enjoy these aspects of the game, and we cannot take that away from them.

SO - How do we fix it so that ALL gaming types in the community from extremely casual to extremely competitive can enjoy their preferential aspects of the game?

The suggestion and how to fix this and the rest of the list, in a way which does not have a negative impact upon either audience:

Filters.

Filters which allow a host in a clan game to pick, let us say, "tick boxes" of any game elements they do not want. Each and every player can see the options, so there is nothing of a surprise, yet only the host can modify them.

Forgive me if I am ignorant to some flaw in programming, but I see that "ghost mode" has faded out weapons, or "Sniper Mode" forces the user into sniper rifles only and can ban automatics, then common sense tells me it is possible for the same principal to be applied to all games, whereby any chosen element can be forced out/ FILTERED OUT from the game.

Essentially this would give the competitive community the power to play the game exactly how they see fit, whilst in confidence KNOWING, that people have to play by rules whereby EVERYONE is under the same circumstances and the game is fair. For those who wish to play with all options open - they still can do!

Filters:

Host/Room creator can pick an choose all options

I.e.

M12

Scar Light

AK47

Armor

Smoke Helmet

etc

Pros:
1. Power to the people - Choice!
2. Individually tailored matches
3. Reduction of conflict and aggression
4. All ranges of players benefit from Extremely casual to extremely competitive
5. Programming rules already present in Ghost mode (no weapons), Knife, pistols and sniper only matches - Little MAJOR new editing needed
6. Promotion and cooperation of competitive leagues/tournament rules adhere easily

Cons:
1. DEV communication needed. ANS: This one is down to you Saidin, I'm powerless.
2. What if a room is made for just a select few weapons which some player's do not have? ANS: The player can see the options picked, have the ability to communicate and request, and can always leave to make his/her own room, or find another which is suitable.
3. Would require constant updating of the Tick Box Board with each new content addition.

This idea gives people the power to play Crossfire as they want to, no matter what it entails.
