Uncommon Resolutions Fix (ATi Users Only)
Okay so you all know how Crossfire runs at only a handful of resolutions? And a very small handful at that. A lot of us who are using giant effing monitors and such really want to not have black boxes running down the sides of the game. I've seen multiple threads about this and none of them had a way to fix this issue.
However I do know a work around. (This is only for people with ATi Graphics Cards)
I don't know if there is a way to do this with an Intel or Nvidia card, however try googling something like "Nvidia stretch resolution" or "Intel stretch resolution" depending on your graphics card. Anyways...
(I don't know if this is the same for Windows XP or Vista users)
For Windows 7 / ATi Users: In your system tray (lower right corner) find the ATi Catalyst Control Center, then open it. There is a selection box at the top of the Control Center that is labeled Graphics by default. Click it and switch to Desktops and Displays. Now at the bottom you should see your display monitor with a black downward facing arrow next to it. Click the arrow and then click Configure. You should get a screen explaining your resolution and your refresh rate. Now minimize the control center and right click on the desktop. Click the Screen Resolution option and there will be a drop down box with a bunch of resolutions. Change your resolution to the one right below the current one. Apply and click okay. Notice how there are black margins like in Crossfire? Now unminimize the Control Center and now you should see there are several options under Scaling Options. One of them being called "Full Screen", select full screen and click apply and okay. Now right click on the desktop again and reopen Screen Resolution and change your resolution back to what it was before.
Now run Crossfire. No more black boxes.
I know this tutorial only applies to a certain group of you and it may be confusing to someone who really sucks at navigating a computer... But...
I hope this helps.
Crap this is the wrong section, could a Moderator or someone please move it?

Yeah, when I first got my new computer that supports pretty much any widescreen except the ones CF runs, it kind of bummed me out. Seeing a good third of my screen cut off by black bars at both sides was zzzzzzzz... but i've kind of gotten used to it.
Nice guide for anyone who likes to see the full screen... I warn you now though, the game was not made to be played at these high resolutions, so the aspect ratio is terrible... looks even worse than normal. =D
Now, if someone could find a good fix for my razor lachiese to stop it from moving in waves, that would be nice. p.s. I know Slant has a slight fix for it, but it doesn't really help. -

They totally cancel the game immersion for me.
I use black bars and so do alot of professional cs players because
when you are in a 4:3 ratio the resolution stretches out making it blurry and annoying.
Plus black bars are sexy as hell

Yeah I noticed the Blurry part right off the bat so I cranked out my 4x Anti-aliasing. It looks fine now.I use black bars and so do alot of professional cs players because

Black Bars are not sexy. They're annoying. And distracting. I don't see why you would ever want them.
