Login screen problem

Hi
Just recentaly while loading up crossfire i got onto the login in screen and it just freezes, I cannot type in my password and when I click on the box to type my password in, a box just appears and says crossfire is not responding. I've waited to see if crossfire responds however I got no results. When the login screen comes up the music still plays but noting else seems to work.

I know its probally something simple that is going wrong here, but I cannot figure it out.
Im using windows 7 os, I don not know if that has anything to do with the problem but i'd just thought i'd tell you incase it does help fix it. So please could you guys tell me how to fix this problem as I would really like to get back to playing crossfire ASAP.
