Idea on how to fix a ferrari, AKA speedhacking.
You guys every tought about making weapons weight server sided?...
lets say ,m4 theoric weight number is 3, pistol would be 2, knife 1... got it?
Now lets say someone has the brilliant idea to make his m4 weight -3, he would go faster and "still look legit" (yet very easy to spot cause of the obviousness of this hack.) Maybe he would not even get reported.
he would make pistol weight -10 so now he gets untouchable...
I believe it could be fractions to... .5 (a half.) would make you twice faster
I wont even bother telling you what would happen with a knife.
This is the most logic explanation I got on a speedhack, yet I could be wrong.
Still worth testing. ( <--- This is a suggestion for devs / xTrap scripters )

I know its easy to find a way around when you know hexadecimals, specialy when u can monitor changes that occurs on certain actions like this byte is 00 when ur still, 01 when walking and 11 when running, then the only job left is to find a way to inject it.... wich is why i tought about making it server sided... might remove all ways to inject the hack, or just make the "precious" bytes of code invisible to anyone but devs and xTrap for working purposes. -
many things are not server sided because it increases the amount of lag. and since the servers cf is running on are crap, it won't be able to hold. but in this occation, id have to agree with you. its a very short and simple script, and it should be serversided too. also chams could work the same way... like a detection of too much Green colors would result in a game crash, it would be pretty simple also.

Yeah i tought about that... thats why i said i might be wrong, since it could already be server sided... and if not, what kind of ping raise would it mean to make it?
edit:...ps: I fail at coding, used to be good working on this kind of things when i was younger (Hack-this-site .... i was used to spend time on those kind of websites, and used to make hackers wargames (there is one single server and you have to hold it the longer you can with the help of your team, before the other team finds the flaw and gets in and try to hold it.) so yeah...)
now i just gave up on it since i got no more fun out of it -

Wouldn't the hack creators just change the weight in their software so it was higher,
rather than lower? I think it would be pretty interesting to see some slow walking, surprised
players though!

But then im not speaking about how they make the hack work(so bypassing), but how the hack works at its core... so it can be fixed for good... , i mean even if they succeed in bypassing xTrap, the speedhack fonction from that very single hack would not work(while not fixing the aimbot problem for now... but one thing at a time)... just wondering if it has already been tryed or if not, would it work?...
Take an example... lets say they want a new weapon in the game, they have to script it, then make the models... and they have to input em in THE GAME.... they're not making em usable trough xFire even if they got all files... what is happening is they directly change the game's core itself because xFire is not able to detect the hack so it can't shut the program if the core is changing...

That is because they all use delta for the GP's... wich is kinda dumb cause they would get more cause of the simple fact they lag less so they can kill more x) -

False, the speed hacker would see people being "froze in time" while no one slows, its only his game that is hacked... that means its "Client-Sided".... need I say more? -

LOL put alot of thought into that one except perhaps u dont actually know what there useing to get the speed. Its a program that would work for ANY game so its not adjusting any weapon weight for cf. -

I saw that kind of thing a WHILE ago... but eh it fks so much with the latenty of the game isnt it? i just dont get why would someone speed to the points he teleports if its gonna automaticly make him DC.... -

OP is correct. Valve's source engine, even in multiplayer, has movement speed, reload speed, and a bunch of other things server side so they CANNOT be messed with.
They use 'client prediction' to hide the delay of the server confirming your movement and actions. Works great.
