All the latest service packs? And video drivers?

I had the same problem... And I just did a few auto updates and it fixed it.

Do it over teamview, sounds to gay for me to attempt.

I had the same problem after Ihad downloaded this patch. In my case, I could solve it by changing some settings in my anti virus program (AVG 9.0).

- Open AVG
- Click on Resident Shield
- Click on manage exceptions
- Add a list and type in the folder where you installed CrossFire.

This will probably be C:\Program Files\Z8Games\CrossFire\

Or in case you are running a 64-bit operating system:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Z8Games\CrossFire\
