mechanical keyboards are the best but the keyboard doop suggested is FAR from being the best mechanical keyboard.

go look for any filco board if you wan't quality.

filco's are 40 more bucks for the same switchs, i said the cheapest non used mechanical keyboard with blacks

    Alright mate...

Mousewise you can't really go wrong with any of the high end Logitech or Razer stuff. Logitech used to be a really good brand when they were competing with Microsoft for market share. To be honest with you most of their gear is pretty cheap and nasty now. All the Gseries keyboards with the displays are awful, steer clear guys! Razer has a really nice selection of mice though, if you can afford it go for the wireless mamba.

If it's a keyboard you're after go straight for a mechanical one. Razer have got a new one coming out next month http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.211651300/categoryId.35156900 . There's also a cheaper option if you're a poorper :). If you don't like that there are plenty of other non-gaming mechanical ones. Make sure you buy one with nice light key switches though.

If you're only using a headset for gaming don't bother getting anything expensive. Just buy something cheap. If you're anything like me you'll only sit on the dam thing and break it anyway!!!

If you're looking for a mouse mat the Razer Megasoma is really nice. It's stupidly expensive for a mat though! I have to admit that it is the best mouse mat you can buy, but it's totally not worth the money. Steelseries make a nice aluminium mouse mat that's also uber expensive. I'd advise against buying this as it wears down the Teflon feet on top end mice STUPIDLY FAST!

Good to know, thanks, I think then I'll buy that G9x then! :] And for a headset, I just said forget it, Ill go pick up a mic in target and get a pair of skull candies! :D And that Blackwidow, I'm pretty sure Ill get that, that thing is nice, it has the audio In/ Mic out, and a USB, good :D

I've found a bit of information on the Cherry Blue Switches that the new Razer Blackwidow is going to use. This information was written by Razer so please take it with a pinch of salt :)

    2. What key switch is used in the Razer BlackWidow? To dispel all confusion once and for all – we use the Cherry Blues – and in our design process, we’ve got a pretty strict guideline on sorting of each switch, so it’s not just the Cherry Blues but those with a certain characteristic/tolerance guideline. So…they’re cherry-picked. I can’t go into the tolerance/sorting guidelines but I can say that it provides for a different experience as opposed to a normal Cherry Blue switch keyboard.

    3. OMG/WTH/etc WHY THE BLUES INSTEAD OF THE [Insert your favorite color switch here] First up, they all cost almost the same – blues, blacks, reds, etc and we had tested all of the switches with multiple designs. So we picked the Blues intentionally from the get go. We went through a design cycle with each of the different switches and our ergo team together with our pool of pro gamers went through extensive validation of the Blues – we came up with 2 real conclusions, 1. It’s a question of preference of each user primarily and 2. There’s a lot of marketing bullcrap and FUD out there about which color is better etc etc.

We finally picked the Blues over the others like the blacks after the testing/validation that we did over the past couple of years– the data was pretty clear to us. The biggest downside to the Blues was the sound – but the other features were huge winners – and the data we collated from hundreds of pro/amateur gamers indicated that the tactile and clicky Blues provided a significant advantage to the gamers as opposed to those that used other switches (though we wouldn’t recommend LAN centers to kit up on the Razer BlackWidows, it would drive everyone crazy). A few people here also brought up the release point of the blue switches being higher than the actuation point by a fraction of a millimeter requiring you to release it fully to ensure a re-actuation. This was also one of the issues that we had tested extensively internally with our test robots as well as with our pro-gamers and this was addressed as part of our design. The Blues do provide a better switch mechanism for gaming (although it depends on your preference at the end of the day too). Don’t take our word for it, give the Razer BlackWidow a go – you may just realize that you prefer the Blues at the end of the day.

I'm a little confused? Whats the difference? And i dont get the difference of mechanical and what other keyboards? Explain?

I'm not a fan of steelseries, so I'll probably get a G9x, a Razor Blackwidow, and headset, I'm not going to bother with, just gona get a pair of skull candies and a mic. And that Mx518, I really think it's an ugly mouse, thats why i don't really wanna buy it. As for a mouse pad, Ill get this, since it's cheaper, I trust the brand, and I like the design (and its bigger!)

I would go with one of those cool Razers, but there like 15 -25 Bucks! way to expensive for a mouse pad

    Mouse: Logitech G500.
    Keyboard: Logitech G15.
Mouse Surface: Func Industries 1030 Surface, MBA Archetype edition.

How is your set up? G15 any good? G500? And i don't really wanna look at that headset :D

QcK+/QcK non biased is a 100% for a mousepad non biased, for reals. and if u care about looks idk man better of playing candy land just sayin, mx518 is imo best mouse on market. but thats my opinion i guess. razer mouses suck. xai is alright. g5 is decent. intellimouse, or a zowie

My setup is awesome, but my audio setup alone totals around $800 including a soundcard...so I wouldn't exactly recommend it to those with a low budget.:D
The G15 is an awesome keyboard, the G19 improves on it but costs a hella lot more.
G500 is an awesome mouse, feels like an MX518 or G5 but it's updated with the G9x internals (i.e. 5700DPI and all that good stuff).
My mouse surface was $40 but it's awesome and it's got a smooth and rough side. Both are great for different applications, but the rough side is my favorite for gaming. ;)

G9X is logitech. I'll use razer. Whats QcK+ and stuff!
  • On an audio point a view. You'll be looking at anything costing more than 50$ for a headset and you re set lol. No point wasting your money in sound when the game dosnt support EAX, 5.1, dolby stuff.

Alothough my Beyer DT48a are wonderful. Better than those boring HD800s

Razer gear is extremely overpriced for it's quality. They just care about looks but if your gay and all thats okay.

QcK i posted before but it's all sold out cause they're too good.

nahh G, still got my DA its just the sidebutton iz broken and i require all buttons to be functional. It just gave me a good excuse to try out the XAI which i ended up liking more than DA. It's just not as amazing as the DA, the Xai. It's ok, just nothing AMAZING like when i first felt that DA optical sensor.

I really wanted to get the G19, people said it's amazing on the reviews and the other things I've read about it. I don't really like the way G500 looks, but rather the G9 (or the G700). Sound really isn't that important for me (yet), and the mother board I'm gona replace it with has a 100 buck sound card as it is (Asus Crosshair IV Formula) so I dont really need a sound card. Now the G15, does it have two REAL USB ports, or are they 1.1? Because I was going to get MAYBE the G930 headset (If i feel like it after i get some money) and i was going to plug the mouse and into the two spots for them. Also, I like the G510 keyboard, so I may get that instead.
