Resolution problem for 1440 x 900 solved

My Laptop had a problem with not being able to play CF in 1440x900. My original setup at home is a 1440 x 900 monitor on top and with the native 1600 x 900 laptop display on bottom as my main display. Regardless-- when i detached the 1440 x 900 monitor- when i try to play CF 1440 x 900 resolution the game would tell me that my laptop display does not support 1440 x 900. As a result- the only way i can play 1440 x 900 resolution is if my 1440 x 900 monitor is attached even though i'm not playing CF on it. At this time 1440 x900 was not a choice in the 'screen resolution' control panel option for my laptop display. The way i solved this was by going into Nvidia Control Panel and went to the 'change resolution' selection and created a 1440 x 900 resolution manually. From that point on my computer was able to set the customized display as a default setting. Going back into the game i was successfully able to set the in game resolution to 1440 x 900.

witch windows are you running ?
  • its just altering your display for your desktop, if you have vista or higher i think its called personilize or something when u right click on the desktop.
  • I'm using Windows 7. Gundam is right though. You can right click on your main destop and change it there... i think... i dont remember Vista that well. if anything- go to your 'Control Panel' and look for your display options. Keep in mind that i had to make a new resolution setting via Graphics Control Panel. So If the first step would be to find your Graphics Control Panel or Graphic Card Options/Controller and look for a Display Tab or option that has the option of making a custom Diplay.
