Karma System
I've been thinking about an in-game system that involves reputation. But in this
case, it would be called Karma.
What is Karma?: Karma is something that could do good for you, or do
bad for you. If you've done something good, then maybe you'll receive positive
Karma. If you've done something bad, then you'll receive negative Karma.
How does this Karma system work?: Players will be able to access your
player profile, and have the option to give you positive Karma, or negative
Karma. This Karma could reflect on how others see you. Like if you
had negative Karma, this may mean you're hacking, you're a smack talker,
or anything that could be taken negatively. If you have positive Karma, it
must mean that you are a good friend, a nice person to play with, a skilled
player, or anything that a player may think positively about you.
Requirements: In order to use the Karma system, you must be Sargent
First Class, or higher. Players may only give out THREE Karma per day, and
only one Karma point per user per day.
Other: I'm almost thinking that this may string the Community back
together. With the recent Vote Kicking problem, these users could gain
negative Karma. Below there will be an example of what Karma would look like
while you're in the lobby. It's very basic looking, yes, but it could be a rather
good system. The area where you actually give negative/positive Karma is
when you right click a player, and click "Player Profile". (or whatever it says)
That's where you can give negative/positive reputation.
Item Shop: A little addition to this idea is that some items from the
Item Shop may require a certain amount of Karma. Who knows, it could be
a possibility!

Say for instance you really dislike someone, you negative them on one account, negative them on another, then another, etc, etc.
Thats exactly what I would do to YOU!

Nice idea but the community cannot even handle kick voting responsibly, never mind trust them to give you an accurate karma rating.
They'll just give you a negative for kicking hackers for kicking glitches, playing good, playing bad, playing average, low ping, high ping, cos your an FDP because your not a FDP, because your a BR, because your a gringo.
And a thousand other possibilities. -
Unfortunately it is true that any such system would be highly abused. We did have a Karma system before for the forums though and we are looking to bring that back when possible when we can crate/find a compatible version with VB forums.
that karma system of course would only be used by moderators, GM, or those with high enough karma in order to prevent such abuses.

I think this is a bad idea, considering the face that crossfire is infamous for being called a hacker for being pro. If a pro is thought to be a hacker, this will not go well with his Karma, even though he/she obviously does not deserve a negative Karma.

Well those users who wish to distribute negative reputation for 'fun' will just receive
negative reputation back.
I wasn't really referring to the Forum's Karma System, but sure, why not...
Also, you could not just keep giving negative Karma to each of these players
accounts, because you must be in the room with them, or in the lobby with
them. Limiting you to only give Karma to those who you play with... -
Eh, but still 60% of the CF community AREN'T decent players, even in Delta. You kill them, and they hate you, you get bad Karma no matter what. AND you could also be a bad player who tells other people to give you good karma like a system of farming, and you'll see a guy like that and think "Oh he's got excellent Karma, I think he's a cool guy!
" NOT.
So what I'm saying is, the idea would be really nice if the community was a little more eh you know.. MATURE. -

RAWR!!!! O:<
.. On topic though, as much as I love this idea, it would be abused.
People are stupid they'd go around giving people Bad Karma for no reason.
Or begging people for good Karma, especially if you would get certain rewards for it.
Don't get me wrong, I do like this idea. And the pic.
