They actually can.
no Xtrap is just a quick fix. once they get around it it will have dropped as it is useless. you cant solve any problem with quick fixes. you have to get down and dirty like the hackers do and fix the actual holes. because if Xtrap does stop them they already know where the holes are. all they got to do is get around it again. so fixing Xtrap is a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME! -
apperantly their coders
never heard the old programing addage never trust the client
you would think that this game was based on always trust the client
how a mutant gets one shoted on mm if the client is not trusted
hp damage should be sent by the server not by the client
wth is up with that
ill tell you the client says i shot a p228 at mutant number 5 for 1,000,000 damage
and the server says ok you hit mutant #5 for 1,000,000 damage ill tell everyone ?
that or the client is telling the other clients and they take it as completly trusted information ?
massive position changes should be checked by the server as well
client says your at position 0,0,0 you run 300 ft in 1 frame ok ill tell everyone you ran to the other side
of the map in 1 second ????
how about (position (x,y) frame 1) - (position (x,y) frame 2) (if diff > 10000000) {then dudes hacking ?}
one line of code if such a thing is found rep is auto saved to z8
seems that the client is very trusted in cf
and in a client server topology
the number 1 rule is never trust the client -

THANK YOU! someone that actually has a head on their shoulders and is not an idiot. as i said initially those simple 1 line conditionals that the server can run well stop basically all these STUPID problems that are part of CF code and it can be done without ever using Xtrap. Thank you, i hope those word will allow there dev team to actually think. -
Spot on, man. Spot on. There is a real problem here, and there simply cannot be enough forum posts until it is fixed. This is not the result of creative hackers, this is the result of poor coding practices. 90% of hacking could be eliminated right off the bat if everything was simply done server side. Would they need more powerful/more servers to do this? Yes. Would that be a problem for a company of their size? NO.
But, I guess in a sense, they did just rip code from the Korean version, so maybe I can't blame them. Well then, what about quick fixes while they get things in order? Have they made more GMs to play in all the servers, rapidly kicking all the hacks? NO. Well, have they set up a decent system where you can upload replays to report hackers? NO. The inbox is ALWAYS full. Well, have they branched off to Brasil so the BRs can leave this game(that would fix at least 60% of hacks)? NO. Hmmmm.... it's almost like they don't care.
That's not to say this game sucks. We're not QQing. We're addressing real-world issues here. If you're too immature to be part of the solution, gtfo and DON'T be part of the problem(*cough*LobsterMts*cough*). We are the consumers here, and Crossfire is the service WE are using. We are not the producers, so we can't change the game ourselves. But voicing our opinion, and putting our cash behind it, is a damn good way of influencing the manufacturers. After all, we SHOULD be the people they are trying to please(in order to make money). Crossfire has too much potential to be wasted in SUCH a gauche problem.
Ultimately, NO, there cannot be enough posts like this until they fix they problem. Right now, it shows how many annoyed people there are, but AFTER they fix it, it will show how many satisfied customers they have. Believe me, the provider of this game is GLAD for posts like these, if they give a damn about their audience. If they don't... well, this game will go down the tubes REAL fast in that case. -

They post things like that cuz it raises their post count and their status on the forums. Those noobs dont give a crap about the issues. Hell, they are probably the ones who are hacking. I do, however, love how them coming on here and posting their useless info (trying to be intelligent when they would loose a debate to a rock) is raising the status of this post. If we keep it up who knows, maybe we can get a big enough petition running to actually get some results. Also, to clarify, I am not trash talking the creators of the game, I am merely voicing my dislike in their handling of this particular issue. If they are working on it they should at least let us see some type of progress to show us that they are putting forth the effort. That isn't too much to ask of a game creator, but as it currently stands, they haven't even tried to stop the problem to my (or anyone i have talked to about the topics) knowledge.

I understand the frustration of playing with hackers, ESPECIALLY if you are just trying to have some fun, but can we please not let this thread degenerate into hackusations and name calling? This thread is to discuss possible solutions to a real world issue, not to collectively rage over all the hackers.
