Same Ol' Same Ol'

Ok, as of today, 9/19/2010, the hacking is just getting back to where we were at phase 1 before this so called patch. I really think as a community and fans of the game, we all got robbed. Please don't fricken use dumb comments to try to disprove me.

They had this whole summer to do something to fix the hacks, to do something about it. But yet they waited until it got to the worse point and then finally tried to do something about it. And even then, it was just a flopping of game codes, so that the old ones will work, not the so called new ones. ANd yet we still see 1 shot kill aimbotters, SPEED HACKERS, 360 spins and stuff like that. But still, Z8 had 4 months this summer to do something about hacking. As a fan, I'm just super pi.ssed of the way they react to the community's concerns, or lack there of. You guys want us to stop making these threads? Why don't you do something about it? Like for real? Until then, hundreds of these threads will continue to show up day in and day out.

Then, instead of releasing more maps and weapons, they simple gave us a modified version of an old map, and just one weapon for 7 days zp. -_- As a fan, this has got to be one of the worst ways to handle things and on top of it all, nothing is being taken seriously among the community. We do not care if you guys shut off the server for one full weekend, just do something to eliminate as much of the hackers as you can.

  • Least you weren't here during closed beta where there was greater variety/number of hackers. Course most weren't complete fools like a certain community, and some would even stop/leave if you asked. Ah the good ol' days.

OT: Sure the hacks are annoying. Only positive I find is that killing speeders in knife matches is actually fun :D

From a working perspective, summer comes and goes in the blink of an eye (I miss school and having summers off :() but the delay between patches and the content is rather lackluster, I admit. Nothing to do but wait and poke speeders I guess.
  • The badge system made this patch possibly the best patch so far in my opinion. There will always be hackers. Unless hackers listen to their consciences and stop hacking, there will always be a VIP hacker out there.

What you say is true, but I think that when someone is getting paid to do their job, they should do their job, regardless of how many patches we have to go through in a month. Don't you think so? The question I have is, why does it take so long for the GMs, MODs and revs to do anything about the hackers? I swear, it happens the moment after the new patch comes out. I used to believe that after every new patch, nobody hacks, but I soon realized I was wrong.

The GMs and mods are not responsible for patching hacks. That falls on XTrap and the developers. The developers are currently busy working on every single version of CF. As far as hacks, there are actually very few working ones as of last patch. It may not be obvious, but the situation is improving.
  • And do you wanna know why I doubt they're doing anything about anything? New patch, tons of people's anti-virus reported a trojan. Whether its false positive or not, it's still present. Is this the kind of things we want as a community? Remember, if they do not have a community, they do not have anything.

I'm not sure what you're trying to insinuate here, but I don't think whether or not antivirus software picks up a false positive has any kind of relationship to whether or not the devs care about hacks. As for the community, the forums represent a VERY small percentage of CF's player base.

No, I'm saying why does it take them so long to realize that there are hackers in the game. As a fan, being frustrated is not a thing to be afraid of. But when we want other people to hear us out, mods come in and close these threads.

The vast majority of threads of this nature violate forum rules. Also, most players are aware of the situation. Spamming the forums with the same threads does nothing to improve it.
  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but it has been mentioned that the "version" of X-Trap has been reverted to an older one. As far as I remember the false-positive on many anti-virus programs was an issue with older versions and it's only natural that some older issues would return with an older patch.

And X-Trap is doing a far better job than Gameguard (or whatever it was called).
