Ventrilo overlap?

I would just like to thanks everyone in advance for any help you can provide.

So i joined this new clan like 2 weeks ago and i already had vent, but my previous clan only used xfire. Now that this clan only uses vent im kinda stuck on how to get the hotkey for my mic to work when im playing cf over top of the vent window. When im in the vent window it will work but once i switch over it stops working. Any tips?
My mic plugs into a USB port and i believe its a PnP device if that helps. Im also running Windows 7 64 bit.

Change your hotkey to one of the keys you use when playing CF.I think CF blocks all the others.

Which Key do you suggest. I had it on C but it wouldnt work so are you saying it has to be like E or Q?

I had the same problem where I could only talk if I was on the ventrilo windo. I just ran vent as admin and it worked ingame too.

EDIT: and I suggest the middle mouse button or left alt
