Says not responding and then shuts down after a while.

I recently downloaded crossfire, and I went to play it, but when I clicked the start game button it went into a windowed mode, black screen, and stays there unless you click it. Then it just close the program. I get lucky a few times and it works, but then randomly does the same thing while Im in game. I just dont know what is causing this. I tried changing compatability for it, but that didnt work. I told my firewall it was ok, so there shouldnt be a problem there, but it still crashes. I dont know what else to do. Please help. Thanks.
