New Kick Voting System
I'm not the first (and not the last) to complain about the kick vote system and how it is misused to kick noobs or good & legit players. But rather than posting an umpteen thread to rage against it, I've decided to post a suggestion for a different system I thought about.
What I think is the problem of the current system is the fact that anybody can launch a vote about anyone at anytime and the interval of about ten seconds is too short, it brings focus on a player and ask the others to make a quick decision. Once a vote is launched most of the players do not want or do not have the time/capacity to make a considered decision. They either look at the players list and the score or F11 any member of the opposite team while F12 any member of their own team. They don't think, they almost act passively.
My suggestion is a kind of active kick voting system.
Rather than launching a vote, each player would have one single vote. Just like you do now with a kick voting, you could go in the menu and choose on which player (from both teams of course) you want to place your vote. This vote could further be changed (once per round for example or even without restriction).
Once a player get enough votes against him, he is kicked.
The needed votes could be 9-10 votes of which at least 3 come from the player's team (for 16 players).
I know it isn't perfect, while probably avoiding some of the current abuses, it would bring new & different ones, but still, it seems to me that it would be a better system. Only when a player bothers enough players in a game would he be kicked from it.

Not a bad suggestion, but I see a major flaw: one that already exists with our current kick system. The problem is the overall number and amount of noobs that exist in a room... All it takes is one person on the other team to QQ, and then a major idiot from your own team just mindlessly starts a vote kick.
With that said, anyone can easily QQ about another player and then spam to everyone to put a vote on your name with the new system. IMHO, I don't think this is exactly an improvement. -

The difference lies in the fact once a vote is launched with the current system, it's unmissable and it takes only an F11 to agree, while in my system you have to go in a menu and choose the players.
If someone QQ about a specific player :
- their complaint could easily be ignored or missed in the chat (while a vote window poping up in the middle of the screen is conspicuous)
- other players may have other name to put a vote on in mind, rather than giving credit to a single QQer
I think the current system give too much power to a single person, the one launching a vote, by giving him a way to attract attention over another player.omgtheycham wrote: »My god. You should become a sociologist.
