Game News

Urban Warfare is back! This mega issue kicks off volume 2. We've got a lot to talk about so lets get right to it!

Many of you have noticed our new Miami Server. While still located in north of the equator, this server is doing its job helping those south of it. We aren't done with the fine tuning of this server and we continue to monitor its progress and work to the best of our ability to help all players of Cross Fire enjoy their experience more.

Many of you have also noticed we have made some changes to the support system. This new system allows us to get tickets in more efficiently so that we can handle everything from account issues to hack reports in a more streamlined and efficient manner. This has translated to a lot more people getting the help they need, and more importantly (to some) a lot more bans have been issued since we've introduced the system than our averages from before.

Second to last, in our game news segment we can't forget to mention our new Friend Invite program! If you haven't checked it out already, this new system is a great way to get your friends playing but more importantly it gives you the opportunity to earn more game points, ZP and prizes! And the only thing you have to do is get your friends playing! So check it out

And finally Urban Warfare would like to give a big shout out to our GM's who are now making themselves a lot more visible in our Community. They will continue to help people where needed and say hello in various threads around the boards. And also, if you've noticed there are even more chances to play with the GM team in games! Don't forget to keep an eye out for their posts for opportunities to play in events and get friendly with the team!

Competitive Updates

The competitive Community in Cross Fire has never been more vibrant. With the Finals of WOGL-P just finishing and the Crowning of LPK as one of the best clans in Cross Fire we can only get bigger. Lifeline was there all the way in the finals but in an epic comeback LPK showed them who's boss and won the right to represent CF NA/UK in China at the World E-Sport Masters. We hope that both Clans will be back for Season 2, but I expect the competition will be even steeper.

Speaking of Season 2. WOGL and Z8Games are proud to announce we are continuing our partnership for the next season of Cross Fire action! There will be cash prizes to be won including a $1000 top prize for the WOGL-P. But there is also $250 cash being awarded for the WOGL-O as well as 250 Euros for their Inaugural European league!

Registration for all these tournaments starts Saturday Sept 11th. So head over to the WOGL site and sign up today! There's plenty of opportunity to win prizes and real cash for all our Cross Fire players! And don't forget to check out wogl.tv for On Demand replays of live matches from Season 1

Competitive play in Cross Fire doesn't stop at WOGL. There are plenty of other tournaments and leagues. The ESL is continuing their league as well as a new league by the Cyber Sports Network (CSN). They are starting up with their first CF Placement tournament so if you're looking for even more competitive play don't forget to check it out!

Community Happenings

Cross Fire wouldn't be anything without its community. And we've made a few changes since the first season of Urban Warfare it's probably worth noting for our readers! We've moved the Off Topic and Picture forums to be more game specific. This hopefully pleases more than upsets, and we can get back to being a happy community! We've also made a change to address the constant Forum name-changing going on. You can now only change your forum name once per month. Your forum identity should be more static than we previously allowed and this will help that.

Now lets get to some of the great threads that have been around our forums!

First off some stuff going on in the Fan Works section of the forums. KyYuuu created a very good cross fire video. Check it out here!

While we're on the topic of fan created things, DJ_ALEX created a pretty good UI mod here. Remember that Urban Warfare says mod the UI at your own risk! And for more video fun check out Devourz video competition thread! Deadline for Entries is September 15th so there still time!

The Barracks continues with some good Cross Fire debates. There was an article posted on the Hacking Debate by Skalen, and so far some opinions are being weighed in. We all know hacking sucks. Urban Warfare says if you hack you will get banned! So don't hack! Our favorite Urban Editor would also like to hint that there will be some further anti-hacking measures coming up soon so keep your eyes on our site for news!

One of our forum regulars R4MM3R asks your opinion of using a melee weapon on a Sniper Only map! What are your thoughts? Lets keep the debate clean please!

As with many things that are going on with our community. This weeks featured site ties in to our previous article about Season 2 and WOGL! If you like competitive play, WOGL is the place to go. Cross Fire is one of the great partners in gaming that WOGL has and their staff has created a great rule set and place to gather and compete for real prizes.
