You're doing it wrong.

Format C:\

Install Windows XP

There was no point in upgrading your windows you wasted money. Make sure you get XP from a torrent site and not give Micro$oft even more money.

pretty soon we'll see a new version of windows that most will flock too.

Stick with XP/Vista, it's compatible with more games than 7 is.

I would go further, Windows 2000 works with pretty much every game also, and it's more stable, and uses less resources. There was never a reason to upgrade past it.
