in one sense, yes a knifer has quite some disadvantages to a knifer (has much longer range, 1 hit kill). BUT, once a knifer gets close (happens a lot in TD sniper only), you are pretty much f'ed as a sniper, your weapons shoots slowly (apart from the msg90 rofl), you move extremely slow due to the weight of the weapon, whereas the knifer has maximum mobility and axes and shovel are one hit kill aswell, which makes them really hard to hit.
so why are they called noob knifers? simply, because only skilled players (or lucky ones) are really capabled of killing them (in a TD that is, in SnDs sniper only its quite simple to kill them) and it doesnt require much skill to run up to someone from behind (in a 8v8 TD, its impossible to hear their footsteps, coz there are too many) and simply stab/slash him/her to death. -

-i personly dont spawn ,run to their bases a knife' em all...
-but if you hit him on leg..just slash..and he is QQ'ing Noob knifer?!
-knife is good for quikswitch
-i am a knife pro :S but dont use it in Snipe only
-i only use knife (sometimes axe) when a noob just runs towards me when i cant scope anymore..

Overusing your melee weapon in a "Sniper Only" match forgoes the reason for enter a "Sniper Only" match in the first place. There are "Knife Only" matches for melee weapons, so why ruin a "Sniper Only" match for those that just want to use their sniper rifle?
Also, its utter BS that knifers are free kills. Only stupid knifers that come straight at you are free kills. For losers that knife you in the back, YOU are that free kill.

Petition z8games for a "real" snipers only game mode. Otherwise you all need to shut your collective trap and deal with the knives. -

I think the knife is in case u ran out of ammo. So to avoid the knifers maybe a good solution should be a create to get all your ammo back on the spawn area or something like this or maybe unlimeted ammo on this type of match.

seriously the only time i knife in sniperonly is when i run out of ammo they need to put a ammo refill in your base -

YoU should read what you write...
First you say you rush to their base and knife em all then you say you only use knife when a noob runs towards you when you cant scope anymore -
No one should ever rage about knifers they are not only easy kills to bring up you K/D but its funny to watch them rage because you knife them. Most knifers are terrible and hold down slash. I just perm axe em in the head and done deal but it rarly come's to tht cause i just QS. Learn to QS and knifer's are just cannonfodder

Exactly most people want to act pro and say "knifers are free kills" as if they can kill any knifer, yea sure if they are running at you it is a free kill, the noob knifers don't though. They sneak mid and approach from the back using shift walk or under the cover of the sound of gunfire because your in battle shooting at the enemy as they knife you. -
I can't be bothered reading through 6 pages atm so I'm sorry if it's been mentioned before. In my opinion, "Sniper's Only" should mean what it says. The addition to melee weapons such as axe's and spades and now a Katana require little skill to kill idle people busy sniping and really take the point of the game being called sniper only. The only reason why melee weapons are allowed (I think) are because if you run out of bullets, you have to find one from the floor...
Well, what if we had doubled ammo for sniper only games? Not unlimited because there may be hackers trying to abuse it. Well I doubt you will ever run out bullets if you have double the amount, so this would be a reasonable suggestion. Like someone said on the first page snipers can be used as a melee weapon, with a little skill. -
Knifes Vs. Axe or Shovel
When I get stabed by somebody running at me with a knife thats my fault, it bothers me when somebody sits around a corner with a shovel wearing a pair of headphones and jump out and hit me from 10 feet away, that ****es me off -

If i kill you with a knife, HAHA SHAME ON YOU listen to footsteps next time, and maybe this wouldnt happen. Learn to use your ears people.
