HAH! Throughout the whole thread I was wondering why nobody had mentioned Akira.

FYI, the guy who voices Ichigo in Bleach also voiced Kaneda in the Akira Special Edition.

I'll just list all that I've watched collectively over my life, though they may not be for everyone.
- Lupin The Third (Comes highly recommended at over 400+ episodes and about twenty movies it never once gets stale.)
-One Piece
-Peace Maker Kurogane
-AKIRA (movie, one of my favorites of all time)
-Samurai Deeper Kyo
-Great Teacher Onizuka
-Devil May Cry
-First or second Gundam
-Sword of the stranger (Another great movie)
-Ruroni Kenshin
-Detective Conan (if you don't mind semi-stupid 400+ half filler anime)
-Azumanga Daioh (If you don't mind purely strange humor based anime)
Guess I'll be generic and say if that kind of thing appeals to you
-Bleach, Naruto, Naruto Shippuden
-Cowboy Bebop (Great series here, if a little short)
-Hajime no ippo (perfect blend of action/drama/comedy, if you think a show based around boxing is alright)
-History's Greatest Disciple Kenichi (It's not all that bad.)

- Basilisk (didn't watch all of it, since I didn't like it but it's of good quality)

There are tons more that I can't think of.
