Why the dsr-1 Seems to take forever to reload and the sound is mismatched

Way to go on your choice of the DSR-1! One of the best snipers out there.
And DSR-1 has an easily switched out firing mechanism so that any military sniper can use it comfortably. It has a bolt action mechanism as well as a semi auto one for those who want it. -

And I'm sure ass hell any government would want to have a silencer JUST IN CASE...any country that didn't....well...they can fail hard.
And btw the reason I picked that image is because the other ones the site had had short barrels...either way, a silenced sniper rifle would be cool for CF. -

Cool, yes. Pointless, again, yes. Have you noticed that when you die, the game camera spins to where you were shot from? Showing you the exact location of the sniper. Then you can decide to try to counter snipe, or to avoid the area. This function makes the silencer completely pointless. And the US Army doesn't use silencers on all there sniper rifles. The stealth ops missions yes, but not all sniper missions are stealth ops. They tend to be more of a go in stealthy, take the target out, get-the-****-out-of-there-any-way-you-can mission.. ._.
And the other pictures had no barrel because thats the way the DSR-1 was made. The reason why the whole barrel is enclosed is because that is a cooler for the barrel. It helps to stop it from overheating when you're using the semi auto firing mechanism. That part is standard on the gun. The other pictures were showing the factory made DSR-1, which is what Z8 put into Cross Fire. The one you showed, is a modified one. The DSR-1 coming out of the factory all stock and no modifying, doesn't even have threads for a suppressor. You have to tell the factory that you want them, then they add them. This makes the production of the gun less expensive. ._. -

Same with the damn M4A1-A, so see anyone complaining about that? Nope...once your dead you in GENERAL not going to be able to tell anyone anything fast enough to help them...
Not to mention that camping snipes would then MOVE, so if you DID spill the bean, it'd be pointless.
Anything after that line...

Lol, I post in paragraphs, I like a complete thought. I don't break up my thoughts into several small, separated sentences such as you do. And also, perhaps you should learn to spell properly before you try to pick apart some else based on how they type.
I place emphasis on the following.. "...Once your dead..." That should go, '...Once you're dead..." There is also this one, which I find rather amusing, "spill the bean," I'm pretty sure that should be 'beans.'
And not all camping snipers move. If they find a good spot, they'll sit there until someone manages to counter them. And then they might try it once or twice later on in the game to find out if it still works.
Still, the suppressor on the M4A1-ADV actually has a function. Most people don't notice it, but there is a very minute change in the scatter, and the recoil of the weapon. The standard M4A1 tends to kick up, and to the right. The M4A1-ADV kicks up, that's it. It also has slightly less scatter than its standard counter part.
And as to the first part that you tried, and failed, to contradict, that all depends on what the re-spawn time is. If it's set to zero, then no you won't be able to catch anything during that time. But if it's set to anything else, I.E. three or ten seconds, then you'll be able to get a good look at where they are to tell your team. Or at least I do. Perhaps you should get your eyes checked. -

I wouldn't say pointless man... if you're sniping at a guy who hasn't yet seen you, and you happen to miss a shot or two, it at least lets a person stay hidden for longer periods of time.ZmasterzeroZ wrote: »Cool, yes. Plus, when shot with a silenced weapon, there's no indication on where the shot came from, giving the shooter more time to kill

That's true, btw, silencers aren't really silencers, they're suppressors, they only give the gun another sound and/or makes it don't echo through every goddam centimeter of the map.
That differente sound shall looks like:
a) Another punier weapon
b) another weapon
c) another thing that's not a weapon, like a rock falling
and sooo, i prefer the awm over SnD maps where you need the kill in only one shot and where you can zoom out to check your area (maybe with a D. Eagle, a knife it's pratically useless against a guy with an automatic weapon >.<) the DSR-1 works on croud controll situations, like EM maps or FFA or TDM, because in these cases, ALOT of people will just pop out in your screen, surely the awm can take down 5 of'em in time, but the time it has between shots make you an easy target to pin pointers, the dsr can actually maintain control of the situation (yough i would rather use an psg-RD with nade to kill them) until you'r ammo's over =]
About the swap time, why don't you guys just walk with it, then sit, then kill these little noobs who go raging shots around you, it's easy, just aim the dot in the guy's head, then click, pew, he's probably dead, if he doesn't lag (above 220ms) or have a too much lower ping than you.
So, as every soldier in every army says, every weapon has a specyfical role in battle, it happens to be that in some maps some weapons do better than others. So choos the weapon accondingly to your role in battle -
i know they're not called silencers dude... but yeah, if and when the M110 SASS comes to CF NA, it'll fit the role of a weak but fast semi-auto surpessed sniper rifleThat's true, btw, silencers aren't really silencers, they're suppressors, they only give the gun another sound and/or makes it don't echo through every goddam centimeter of the map.

fast sniper rifle = AR RoF and power with a sniper rifle
or
fast sniper rifle = SR with higher RoF than the others with lower power (m700ish)? -

The top one, you play to much MW2, there is no indicator in Cross Fire when you're shooting. And also, they wouldn't put in a suppressor because they also decrease the muzzle flash. By doing that it would make the green and blue muzzle flame items pointless for those who use the silenced DSR-1.
And to the second one, claiming that the AWM is better because it's one shot one kill, the DSR-1 is the same thing. You hit them, they're dead. You just need to hit them in an area that's not the hand, or foot. However, you have a point on the time between shots. When I used the AWM I got killed several times because I was waiting for the bolt action to go, so I could fire again. With the DSR-1 they put into Cross Fire, there is no bolt to pull, so that problem is solved. =D
And lag isn't anything over 220. It's anything over 200 is a 90% chance of a lagger. But that has to be there ping, added to your ping. Then if it's over 200 they more than likely lag.
