No when ur friend has ranked up u earn that gp
the higher he gets the more gp anf stuff u get

O.o I mis-read the post.

You earn something whenever ur "Friend" ranks.

He ranks 1 time : 1K GP. <---- For u
2nd Time: 5K
3rd Time: 10K Something like that.

Since the last patch, you can invite your friends on your buddy list, right? Well, take a look at your profile "Event Logs".
