because this is a forum, it thrives on rumors. What are you talking about, you know nothing. Why would you post something like that when you have no clue if its true or not.
don't read threads if you're going to be offended by every single statement made about Lifeline by non-Lifeline members -
doesn't everyone call on the fly? 0.o
or at least that's what happens if you play picks and lose a man on any team i've been in.it's kind of common sense that if they have lets say 4 people rotate to B and you have 3... to work a strat towards the other site. it's really not that hard to call on-the-fly strats. the hardest part is knowing if your team is going to listen to them or will they keep trying to out-rifle some guy elsewhere, which is the main difference between a top team and some decent echo 8 team. In other words anybody who knows the map and is not a pubstar will understand what's happening in-game and will try his best to work with what he's got to change the strat mid-game.
There's alot more going on then just dodging where they are stacked.
The whole purpose of a strat is to give you an advantage so you can win the round. Doing all-in rush/fast strats are nice, but the success rate on them is really low.
First thing you have to do is avoid being predictable yourself, and try to recognize patterns in your opponents. Easiest way to avoid being predictable is change up the routes/timings players take to do a strat. Executing 15-30 seconds earlier/later can really keep a defense off balance.
Next you have to anticipate what the other team is doing before they do it. If you can sense their buildup you can easily win the round. It's kinda hard to explain, but it is the next step after predicting where they are at. You might send 2 players to push/scout an area. Recall nade work, see where there is no action, see where there is action.
As I said before you need to work strats that create an advantage, and not necessarily win the round. Once you get the advantage (+ Players Advantage, Other team has no nades, Other team is split up, etc) that's where real calling comes into play. You can either than fake or commit. If you decide to fake you need to decide what type of fake you are going to do. Are you going to use smokes/nade work to delay the other teams roate, are you going to send players solo/together to draw a rotate from the other site, are you gonna fake a fake and then go to the site you originally were going to go to. All of these things have to be analyzed once you get the advantage.
So when you get the advantage on BL ask these questions:
Where do I expect the other team to rotate to?
Will I be able to get to where I need to be before they rotate gets there?
How many people do I expect to rotate?
Can I sell a good fake after my pick, making it easier for my team to take elsewhere?
When you get the advantage on GR ask these questions:
Am I in a position where I could die without my teammates getting a trade?
If I’m alone, can I get to a position where I can delay enough to give my teammates time to rotate to help?
How much time is remaining in the round? Should I cover my usual spot, or should I just focus on covering the bombsite?
If you don't have the advantage in a round, you need to figure out how to get it back.
1) Be Random- Keeps the opponent off balance
2) Play Aggressively- You can get the advantage back with just 1 kill or so.
3) Take risks- You are already at a disadvantage, risky to get the reward.
The easiest way to get the advantage in rounds is to have your players play a role/style that fits them best. Don't have your front guys working slow with an awper, and don't have your awper rushing with your front guys.
Once you get the hang of winning individual rounds, then you can really keep your opponent off balance & in an akward feeling by stringing rounds together. By doing this you can set your opponent up to adapt to something that you aren't going to be running anymore and have already planned on countering.
I realize alot of this post doesn't make sense, I am very very sick right now so I am not very coherent with my words. -

SNSD did this in one of their casts. They had a passive and a rush that one of them just called early in the round. They probably just had you confused with SNSD. -

it makes sense and i agree but it's really not that hard to call a strat that works. what i was really trying to improvise is that a lot of people can call strats but can the strats be followed strictly is the main problem a lot of teams have with their ability to shoot, aside. so in a way if lets say you, doop, call a strat in a pug or w/e and 2 people are doing something else then the strat may not work as planned but if you call it for LPK you will generally all listen as you have the common sense/expertise to play smart.
my posts were not meant to disagree with what oz said they were mearly an add-on. Believe me there are people who can call strats just as well in SNYPERS or any other random clan but do not have the teamwork/shot to back it up -

Thus the words I HEARD SOMEWHERE. Listening isn't believing.
Seriously. Learn to read. I seriously agree with desh. You get butthurt over every comment on LifeLine. -

pugs are just dumb and i don't call strats in them. it mainly involves of lets go b lets go a, split cat long etc. -

i gave a bad example
i was trying to say that a "good" strat caller with a team that doesn't listen will not go far.
and pugs are a joke nowadays. might as well call it a 10 man pub room -
Best strat caller that I've played with is either Cyclops or MyAWM (lolololol)
I'm kidding, myawm sucks at strat calling.
I would say doop or blitzd but I don't have the slightest idea on how they call. People who haven't played with the people they mention can't really claim that they are the best strat callers. -

wooot i just took notes doop ty
made me make my 7th post
AND THE BEST STRAT CALLER IS KAYCEE HAHAHAHAHHAHA XD lolololol -
In DeluXe i reckon that we depend more on our shot making. Against top top teams I don't think most of them would work since fakes arent used frequently enough in my opinion and I don't know if people have the brains to ''read the game'' properly.
For my own personal wogl team I try to mix it up as much as possible but I just think we're missing that bit of magic, who can make special shots that can change the balance in each round or just lock down a site. I personally don't like having to call strats since I have a tendency to stutter a bit when i'm making decisions or else mix up names of my team (lol, fail) which obviously is a disaster but however,I don't think my team has the ability to open the gaps in CT's defence.
On CT I think it depends on the quality of the people we're playing. As i've already mentioned we don't have many special players / shots so our passive set up isnt too good so against good teams we try to play as aggressive as possible, e.g. nade stacks, ''pincers'' or just a slow push on either site.
I've always enjoyed Rufus's strats and I think Nip is great at getting his message across but I just think the team can expand our strats more, but we've only been around a short time so I guess these things will grow.
Seals have been the maestros of strats ofc,but I havent played them in ages >.> And they're missing a lot of the old guys =(((
