Personally i don't remember the new accounts having such low gp to start of with. Being now 40k - 4k for a character, leaving 36k left.
Is it just me or did it lower significantly? I swear, the first thing I did was buy an m4a1 when I got my account and did what I could. I never used the m16, and m700 only for sniping.
If it was so, how come we never got this in patch notes or whatnot? Sure, we got new ways to earn gp and such, but its a bit odd how its possible older accounts had a slight advantage.
Regardless, I could be wrong and just be a crazy senile dragon, just felt weird not being able to buy my gun off the bat.

Yup, it's true. My account came with 40k GP.
I had to play Elimination until the first rank up to get a decent weapon.
I received my Deagle at Staff Seargent (17.7k EXP !).
If a beginner would have attemped this, he'd say fck this sh!t at like a few thousand EXP.
Ridiculous. (Sorry, I'm just letting it all flow now).
The worst part is that somehow it is now impossible to have 3 weapons (e.g. m4a1, deagle and xm8/shotty/..) unless you save up for ages and break your m16+m700 OR...
-this is where the trick is- you buy ZP.
WHAT?!
In my whole gaming history I can't remember a game that ripped their players off this hard.
It is time we either get more GP (missions, games, events, ANYTHING) and bug fixes (keyboard settings, random DC, Wide-RESOLUTIONS ffs!, ...) or people should start wondering who they invest their ZP in.

But I see where a few people are coming from with this being a problem. It was hard getting guns before, (only reason I got the guns I wanted so far was actually through zp.) I was using my m700, m4 and p228 for the longest time, without any change.
But also, why was it kept secret? Its not something that is all that special, no. But it affected alot of people greatly. and to be honest, I have no idea when it took effect. (I never created an alt up until recently.) It only makes me wonder what else is happening behind the scenes we don't know about. -
Maybe, people were getting guns like M4A1 too easily.I guess, its a pretty good gun for Smiley Faces to get..
And I would rather them lower the starting money, then raise the guns prices :O Oh noze!
Perhaps... But I don't see how this is really a problem, especially since 1) other versions can allow you to buy an m4, deagle and still have money left over. 2) the m4 is a balanced weapon, something they SHOULD be using. Plus, they do have rank requirements for alot of guns.
So I'm curious to hear their reasoning behind it, if they even decide to give such, just makes me laugh at the possibility that they probably didn't think anyone would know.
Besides the point, guess us oldies are lucky. We got a good 10k advantage on new players. Yay. -

u really should go play CoD or something, im not a zp buyer, and i have awm, de-s, conda, deag, p228, xm8, ak47, tar, qbz, k2, SL
and ive bought around 200k gp worth of crates
u gotta manage ure gp wisely -

After all rank-ups you can get 96k GP. Doing missions every day for 2 months gives you another 30k. If you buy c4/nade packs you're left with too little to buy a (3rd) weapon.
So basicly unless you do ALOT of surveys (which isn't possible in Belgium, we got other surveys), play for years or just buy the ZP, the things you said are impossible to get.

EDIT: I just checked and the max. ZP you can get from BGM Surveys (which is in my case the only service that has ever given me my ZP) you can get 1k ZP for "free". -
