kingdonz this is what I did and it worked, hope it works for you
are you using kaspersky? I just had this problem, uninstall cf, pause the antivirus, install the game, go to the antivirus exclusions add the whole game folder, also add the crossfire.exe to the exclusions, unpause ur antivirus and you should be okay.
