Why did this happen to the sad glock??

In real life this is a great gun, its used by almost 70% of police departments around the world. So why does it suck so much here in cf?? I think they should do something to fix it.

Its my opinion

    cause the dev suck
  • Because Police Officers use 9 Milimeter guns. Deagle, Anaconda are hard core Pistols. Ana: .45 Deagle: .50 Glock: .9

Deagle, Ana are not normal, they work as a Rifle.
  • M9 sucks bum, but it's a standard issue gun.

The thing is about police guns, they're not intended to kill, they're intended to wound.

M9 works as a Glock. They're both .9 So, low range gun, good for close combat, low reload. M9 is a good gun for close combat, it's really faster at shotting, aim to head and you won :)

Its your opinion and you are entitled, but also keep in mind that popularity does not necessarily mean quality.

Why do most police organizations use Glocks? They are cheap, light, the ammo is cheap, and above all else they are easy to train with. The Glock has no operable safety systems so a complete idiot can use one. All it is, literally, is insert mag, rack slide, aim, pull trigger. Cleaning is easy with a simple lever used to remove the whole slide assembly.
However, many people have had accidents with Glocks involving feet, since an officer would draw and ready his/her weapon, finish it's use, then go to holster it and inadvertently catch the trigger on the way in...
Personally, I find them dangerous, uncomfortable, and cheap.

On a 1911, I'd say a much better handgun, it has several safeties that must be taken into account. In order to fire, you must insert the magazine, drop the thumb safety, rack the slide, the beavertail of the grip must be positively depressed with your grip, aim, fire. A bit more complicated, more stuff to train as far as muscle memory goes, but a lot safer.
A 1911 is also more difficult to takedown requiring several steps.
On top of this, compared to the average Glock the average 1911 costs double, .45 is much more expensive than 9mm, and with the accuracy the average cop has .45 can do a lot more collateral and property damage than 9mm. Overall it is a poorer choice to arm a security force with unless the officers themselves buy and train with their own handguns.
In the right hands, 1911s are very effective sidearms. LAPD Swat and SIS are issued specialized Kimber .45s, but they are highly trained units and can afford such firearms and the training along with them.

The M9 is in the same boat as the Glock in this situation, however has the military track record to back it up as a "better" pistol. It's also a lot safer than a Glock.
Many police bodies also use Sig P226s. They are a good middle-ground between the Glock and 1911, safer than the Glock, easier than the 1911, and a good middleground on price. I am really shocked that more police bodies do not use SigSauers.

As for the Glock in CF, it is in no way a fair representation of the Glock in real life. That being said, neither is any other weapon in the game.
Overthinking it, every 5.56 gun in the game should have the same firepower, same with every 7.62, etc.
Depletion of power with range is very exaggerated in CF (rediculous with some specific weapons), except for snipers it seems, reload rates are borderline rediculously fast, except for some weapons which are way too slow, shotgun range is too low, the SPAS pump shotty isn't a pump in game, the AK magazines don't operate according to actuality (it rocks in to the magwell, it doesn't insert vertically like an M4), and I can go on and on.

Considering all of this, the Glock in the game is a fair representaion when compared to all other weapons in the game...

You want to talk not fair representation, the Deagle was nerfed since Beta when it was good. It was barely 2 in the chest for a kill and the range depletion was far less, now it is more like it's cousin the .44 "Baby" Eagle, though it was never really .50AE powerful to begin with (1 in the chest anyone?).
Yeah, it still is good and is the best pistol in the game, but believe me when I say that in Beta it was more like a primary than a pistol...
Along with this, the 1911 .45 in game is underpowered... It seems there is a big gap between the medium and low power pistols like the Sig, M9, and Glock and the high powered Ana and Deagle. The .45 should fill this gap, but for some reason the developers decided it won't so it sits barely above the Sig...

Oh, and the Ana is a .44 mag, not a .45 Perez.
  • This game actually has the most unrealistic sidearms of pretty much any other modern fps. In this game you can fire the Desert Eagle like it's a .9mm which is silly, to say the least.
  • Because Police Officers use 9 Milimeter guns. Deagle, Anaconda are hard core Pistols. Ana: .45 Deagle: .50 Glock: .9

    wut he said. :)
  • Deagle/Anaconda are hard core Pistols, just like a rifle. Glock is a normal pistol just like a M9.

Honestly you are over reacting some. Neither the Colt Anaconda or Desert Eagle are comparable to a rifle, and the Glock 18 is a fully automatic pistol in real life which is NOT "normal" by any means.

anaconda = 44. calibur ;), if it was 45. it would be a python.
shames theres no smith and wesson m500 50. cal, that would put the deagle in its place :D

Actually, the newer Desert Eagles are chambered to also fire the .50 cal magnum round that the Smith & Wesson 500 shoots.
  • Desert Eagle has been always Best weapon...If we would make Glock powerful Full auto would make it to over powered....Also M9 and Glock have 15 & 20 bullets in mag since Deagle and Conda have only 6 & 7....Glock uses 3-4 bullets to kill and Deagle 1-2,Everything makes sense =P

    agreed .

    They are intended to wound. . . . . Then kill. :D

A gun is a gun. If you get shot once you die. CF is unrealistic. IRL you don't have HP
  • don't compare guns in real life to video games. i get 1 deag's across maps in this game which scale to what? 500 feet? not happening unless you could inject in real life.
