Whats an optimal fps???

  • People here need educating.

The vast majority of CRT and LCD displays refresh at 60 - 80 hertz (per second).

Those are the ONLY frames you are going to see. If you have a monitor at 60 Hz and your game runs at 70 fps, you are throwing away 10 frames every second.

Moreover, you really can't notice a frame rate over 30 anyway as long as it is -consistent-.

Movie cinemas roll their films at 29 fps. How many people complained of 'lag' the last time you saw a movie? That's what I thought.

It is *impossible* to tell the difference between 100 and 500 fps, anyone saying otherwise is using a display from the future, or they are lying.

Also want to add in what I keep hearing about mouse polling rates. They say they bumped it up to 500 or 1000 Hz. The same rules apply, as long as the polling rate is more than your monitor's refresh rate, you are good.
  • No it won't. The game is targeted to run at 60 frames per second. Anything more than that is not perceivable. Of course having more than 60 gives you a buffer in case the framerate drops.

    uhh, for me it does.

I am used to paly with over 100 FPS. When i played on my friends computer which had about 50-70, i couldnt control any guns, the sniper shots just would seem to hit them, like recoil just up... I'd say for this game, 100+, for other games like, COD and LoL and every games that is decent (not saying cf isnt decent), 60.
