[Forum Suggestion] Karma System

Is it possible to implement a karma system into these forums? A count for positive and a count for positive karma. Something like what the SMF Forum engine has. I think it would be an incentive for people to make more meaningful posts

a karma system used to be here, back in Suba, but I definitely think Z8 should have kept that.

I don't think it'd be that hard to implement either...
Or do we have to wait for one of the Asian CFs to provide scripts? :O

Yes this used to be in SubaGames, i hope they bring it back

There are currently technical limitations that prevent us from using the reputation system. Besides, as Saidin mentioned recently in another thread, it would most likely be abused.

True. Alot of people have alot of alts. They don't like someone, they negative them, log on to alt, rinse and repeat.

Use IPs rather than database injections to keep track of ratings per day?

I wasn't here when suba had the game...
Karma systems ftw. As long as they are properly implemented. I stick to my rating limitations based on IPs idea and it shouldn't be too bad...
You have to be a sad, lifeless nerd to make alts just to give someone bad karma.

Yeh but bad karma is cool and how would people get the most bad karma pretty much will ruin the forum

+karma means you're a top contributor to the forums.
-karma means you're hated.

I guess karma can encourage meaningful posts but also rage posts?
