A question about CPU and Cross Fire

Well, sometimes my Cross Fire goes very slow at 8 vs 8 matches, with like 28 FPS or ****s like that... I formatted my PC and the problem is still there, the temperature of the CPU is 45-50º at Idle and something like 65º playing Cross Fire. [I play with all progrems shutted down, including antivirus, so thats not the problem (I use Windows XP) I play with Texture "Low" at 1440x900 (wide) screen in my 1950x1080 screen.

My question is, I have an Nvidia 8500 GT, 3 GB RAM and an Intel Pentium D 2.8 GHz... the Cross Fire recomended system requierements is Pentium 4 - 2 GHz.

Why is my Cross Fire running so slow? Intel Pentium 4 is better than Intel Pentium D (it's dual core) for playing it?

Then what may be the problem? That CPU temperature is normal? I play without programs, alright but idk why sometimes the FPs are so slow...

Try GameBooster to close the background programs or close them yourself manually. I don't really know why you have such low FPS, I have Pentium Dual Core 1.8 Ghz, 2 Gb RAM and I get atleast 50 FPS in 8v8.

Your CPU is basically two Pentium 4s without hyper-threading so that's not the problem. Your GPU isn't the best but you should be getting a lot more than 28 FPS. Have you tried new Nvidia drivers also what type of PSU do you have?

I have the lastest Nvidia drivers installed, do I have to make any change at nvidia software?
Mmm.. where I can check what PSU i have? I don't know what you are talking about, anyway I send you a report of my computer, probably you can see the "PSU" there:

And yes, I also work with Gamebooster, but its almost the same, like 25-30 FPS, only having Teamspeak 3 and Cross Fire processes opened.

Anyone have any idea of how to solve it? Thank you.

actually, 65C is pretty high.

Try getting it lower ^_^

Its a little hot, clean up the cpu put new thermal, or buy a new cooler for it.

PCs usually overheat and shutdown automatically at around 70-75C almost there so yea

Your fps will double up.

Cleaned

I cleaned the PC and i cleaned a lot of rubish, Now I have 40º-41º at idle and 58-61º in-game, is that still too much temperature?

Shouldnt be any problem , mine is nearly 70 while im playing
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 gigz ,
And i got 60-70 fps in an 8vs8

Well, i cleaned up a bit but its similar, just 2º lower. Well, it's summer there and my bedroom is very hot, i tried opening the PC lateral cover, but its similar too, the same temperatures.

Now at Cross Fire i have 63º CPU and 67º GPU

U are talking about upgrading from SP2 to SP3? That would make the games work better?

Yeah, but lowering my resolution makes the game looks very, VERY ****ty, cuz its a 1950x1080 screen.. and it looks impossible to play.

Installed

I upgraded to SP2, but its still the same ****.. fack 30 FPs... XD, and that playing with x16 bits, not with x32 lol, so I think its thing of the cooler, but thats weird cuz its new, and i cleaned it yesterday. It seems like i will have to wait to the winter so my bedroom is colder and my computer works with lower temperature.

Hey, can some player, with 60+ FPS try to monitor the temperature of they're PC while playing Cross Fire so I can know if thats my problem? cuz I don't see any other option :S

I use Everest Ultimate Edition for monitoring that.
