Even though in the support section under number 7 it said Mac/linux. I am so confuzed. o.O? -
If you expand the category you will see this:7. Can I play Cross Fire under Mac OS/Linux?
At this time, Cross Fire will only run on Windows-based operating systems. It is possible to run Cross Fire on Mac OS using BootCamp and other like software however.
Bootcamp applies to Macs, but you need a valid Windows install disk and serial number. It effectively allows you to choose which operating system you want to boot into when you start the computer. Something similar can be done with linux, but you need to look up specific instructions for dual booting with windows. -
Crossfire onlinux
I've tried to get it to run trying multiple things on linux. Using just ubuntu tho. Anyway. Here's what Wine says about it. So looks like it is gameguard or whatever keeping it from running uner wine.

Installs fine. xfire runs, just crossfire won't. Haven't tried any other emulator yet. Anyone know any better ones than wine that's for windows emulation?
O yeah. If u use vbox. It lags like horribly bad. If ur gonna throw up a unix box. Put it on it's own machine. U'll have a LOT better success with it. esp. if ur gonna be using apps that use high amts of resources. Just a thought.
