Login Errors
Alright, so I downloaded and installed Crossfire. Then I ran CF, when I reached the login screen, I typed in my ID and password, then hit ok, and nothing happened, the screen just stayed there, it didn't directed me into the game. Although, I can still hit the exit button at the top, but I tried lots of time, I waited for what happened, the screen just stayed there, and a message "Disconnected from server" pops up after 30-45 seconds.
Anyone know how to fix this, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

If it's well over a minute, then there might be something wrong.

I'm having the same issue, gets to log in screen and all looks fine, type password press enter then it just hangs, I don't get the server error. Been like that for 2/3 days now. not sure what to do, thinking re-install?
I did, I even re-downloaded the version, still had the same problem. -
I talked to [MOD]Greycloak, and he said that it happened because of the firewall of the anti-virus software we're using, the software somehow blocked the communication to the game. So, he said we need to change it, or make a reception in the anti-virus firewall for Crossfire.

ok, I'm running avg free as my antivirus and just using windows firewall. set crossfire as an exception in the firewall it but made no difference. Then disabled the firewall which made no difference either. avg free doesn't have a firewall so don't think it can be that and if it was one of these why would it work sometimes and not others? confused.com!

I did, they said view the common solutions in the forum, if not, post a thread in the Technical Support forum. -
yeah CF worked, once....
Have tried disabling the firewall and it doesn't help.
things have got even stranger now though... managed to get logged in again but this time when I choose which server I want want CF crashes and an error from x-trap appears saying:
"an abnormal keyboard/mouse input has been detected. Please close or remove any programme which is affecting keyboard/mouse input and restart the system."
I've got a screen dump of it as well but I can't seem to paste it into the thread. I can upload it if there is a way.
I have a wireless keyboard and mouse, but this was not an issue before the patch upgrade or until a few days afterward. This seems really strange... -

Yeah it lets me log in now and choose which server I want then it crashes when I select a game to participate in with the keyboard/mouse error from xtrap. very strange. -

Same problem. Ive redownloaded, reinstalled, waiting through 'patches', and looked everywhere I could in the forums. I also submitted a support ticket, in which they told me to look in the forums, or request help...
The funny thing is, Crossfire works perfectly at my friends house, who runs XP, while I run Windows 7. How about you guys?
And GM's, please help! -

I'm guessing it's happening because of our routers
