Wide-Screen but can't play with it

hello guys.
I have a 16:9 wide-screen but i can't play with full-screen or higher resolution than 1024x768.
what can i do to play full-screen?

yeah i have the some problem. when i first bought my monitor it did the same thing then a restarted my comp and it worked now i bought a new video card and it turns into windowed mode but in a shtty small screen in the top left corner

same with me i just run 1024x768. i wish in the furture they will put in more resolution option.
