CF will not get a new engine. First of all, that would significantly raise CF's system requirements. While you may have a great computer, not everyone does, and cutting off a large portion of your player base is a bad business strategy. Additionally, I don't think you understand the effort required to port a game to a new engine. In CF's case, virtually everything would need to be remade. It would be a massive waste of effort on the developers' part.
