    Punkbuster fails. Ever play WarRock when they had Punkbuster? Well, If you had attempted, you wouldn't be able to.

    Punkbuster would randomly kick half the people logged in every few hours. Hack's were wayyy more common with punkbuster too.

    It made the WRck Client so unstable that they got rid of it.

    I don't want CF to fail with even more disconnections than we already have.

    Hell no.

    Edit;
    Plus, I enjoy playing right after an Xtrap patch. Atleast then I can go 50-0 in GM as Black List and have an excuse as to how I can't possibly be hacking.
  • Punkbuster is not a great program, since it is used in Warrock, and there are more hacks than CA and CF combined.

    Xtrap is decent. Perhaps its best to go with Gameguard or something. Hack programers will always be one step ahead in the anti hack business since they have WAY to much time on their hands.

    They don't use PB anymore. They finally realized how epic it fails.

    Even Punk-Buster doesn't get rid of all the hackers...

    some times COD-4, MW2 and Battle-Field 1942 has hackers WITH Punk-Buster running.

    but yeah maybe Cross-Fire does need a new H.P.S. but if X-Fire Updates some day that will be fine.

    It could be because the anti-cheat is SERVER SIDE, unlike xtrap, which can be bypassed, etc.

    Someone on a game called "Nostale" (don't worry Z8, it won't steal your money, it's an MMO) said something among the lines of...

    "Hackers use programs to bypass anti-cheating programs, and the anti-cheat vendors answer to this is to create a PROGRAM to stop this...did they not get the fact that hackers HACK PROGRAMS?"

    As long as someone has the program in their hand, they can look into it, screw with it, remove it, etc. Games that have the anti-cheat on the server don't have these problems as often (hence, Nostale was only ever hacked in 3 major cases, only 1 of which was due to a client side modification while the other 2 were packet hacks to the server) while game that rely on client side programs tend to fall flat on their asses.

    That program is most likely an injector. If you havent hacked or have any knowledge, they are programs that "inject" a packet, .dll, or a file when the anti-hack program is being startup which will evade the scanning process and will run the game instead of crashing it.

    Also, decoding the game program, finding a exploit, using it and looking into it requires some knowledge and is actually time consuming. But because hackers have much more time than developers, they are always one step ahead. Unless the developers encode everything using a program that they themselves have created, but that can be hacked.

    I also agree that server side programs do much better than ones that are client sided.
