I think this is a good idea, the mutation could spread to animals as well.
We have males and females as mutants, a machine, why not a animal :x

how does a person turn into an animal? all of the mutants actually look like mutants/zombies and not sum random monster

How does a male soldier that gets punched by a green monster instantly turn into a female nurse with superpowers to jump 10 feet in the air? Turning into a werewolf would make about 13.6 times as much sense as that does. A werewolf in MM, hard to hit like the Maiden, speed boost of the green guy and long range of ZP characters, that wouldn't be a bad addition to the game. When you get mutated you release your inner furry.
