Crossfire and Ubuntu
I just switched my desktop to Ubuntu from windows, in short I LOVE Ubuntu
however I cant seem to be able to play crossfire on it?
My laptop is the only way I currently play BUT Im going to soon be switching that to Ubuntu

The problem your going to have is with xtrap (and yes i've tried, but i've never gotten it to work) crossfire itself should work fine in wine, but xtrap won't.
My only suggestion is to 'make' a virtual machine with windows xp on it, and run it in that. -
Yeah the problem is Xtrap. It relies on various hooks into the Windows kernel which do not exist on any Windows emulator. Also, the game does not like to run in virtual machines. I've heard there is a way, but I cannot support discussion of that here.
