Dear Z8,
Myself, and I'm sure the majority of the community, would appreciate it if you could try to, when stating things, not make them so vague. You see, if someone goes out of their way to state something to a mass amount of people who have something in common, ABOUT that thing they have in common, it typically means the speaker is referencing the specifics of that particular community. And if there has recently been an event directly tying in with the process of said statement, then it isn't too far fetched to assume that they have something in common.
Unless of course, said statement was false/uninformed and by making every single word that comes out of your mouth incredibly vague, you can make a "meh" attempt at covering up the MINOR mistake that was made, instead of just owning up to it.
Coming to a basic OBVIOUS logical conclusion from something isn't over-analyzing. Sacrificing a goat to the god "Iraknoktor" and assuming that the world will turn into cheddar cheese is. Yes, I know the differences are subtle, but they ARE THERE. If you need me to help you understand the concept further, just PM me.

Denxi what're you talking about?
he's talking about how z8 tells us information about what they're doing/planning on doing but it is very vague, saying things like "we are adding things that will make the game more competitive" then when the patch comes out the competitive players see that the changes are not actually competitive to us.
I'm not bashing z8, always grateful for more updates, nor is the Original poster of this thread bashing z8 so this thread does not need to be closed. -
Denxi, you've been making these threads for way too long sir, I doubt anything's going to change my friend. Sometimes it seems you try to hard to show your intelligence with deep philosophical threads on the z8 forums.
Speaking your mind and attempting to boast are two different things. The thread is worded as such for those who get the joke. -
I think the idea of being vague is to increase excitement about the new content and about the game. Theres always a different energy around patch time and I think that is a good thing. When Z8 says new patch, if you automatically think that you're going to get that new Barrett sniper rifle then you're asking for disappointment.
I know that isn't what you did, i'm just saying i'm sure a few did jump to conclusions in similar fashion. In the end disappointment happens often. Z8 cannot come out with patches that please everyone all the time. In the end I find Z8, more often than not, delivers. Every patch has at least one thing that I enjoy and I take solace in that.
Just my two cents on the matter. I would Z8 games rather not tell me explicitly what they're going to add to the game, ruins any sort of build to patch launches. -

Its not so far off in the fact that your first paragraph, as far as I understand it, is essentially about jumping to conclusions. Boil it down to the bear bones and that's it. I'm not sure if you're sincerely angry about this because you think you've been misled but the fact is if you wager a guess about a patch based on a vague statement, well then it is your fault for the disappointment of it not being exactly what you thought.
"Things that are going to make the game competitive." Vague? Yes. If you draw any conclusions from this, no matter how many people agree with you then it is a guess. Your disappointment is your expectation of something that Z8 did not specifically say it would deliver.

Z8 specifically said that there would be things to make the game competitive.
We didn't receive such things.
Therefore, poutine-scented is disappointed, and so are many others.
We had every right to expect something competitive, and we got nothing competitive. -

Haha yes, they specifically said something very general. For people who play mutation mode, new maps might make things a little more competitive.
You do realize what competitive means, right?
A new map wouldn't make it any more competitive. It's still an awful mode that will never be competitive, adding a map will not change that. -
I've read it, and have gleaned the information i've seen in it. The more you say "re-read the post" the less I actually care about your actual meaning, if there is one beyond what i've already said.
If you wish to be understood by yourself and a select few, then I leave you to it.
@Dag - Adding a map that requires new strats for mutant survival would make it slightly more competitive. But as I said, i've bowed out of this thread. -
Z8 games and their representatives should be specific.
Eg.
"This coming patch will have some updates for the competitive community"
vs
"This coming patch will have updates which we hope will open up competition in modes other then SnD"
vs
"This coming patch will have updates including new maps for TDM and M.M."
I believe statement Denxi is referring to was made during the WOGL Broadcast. WOGL currently is running Cross Fire leagues and tournaments for SnD (search and destroy).
Furthermore at the moment the majority of Cross Fire leagues and tournaments have been for Search and Destroy.
Hence its easy to assume that when someone says competitive community they mean SnD community although Saidin already touched on this one.Sincerely,

I just think its interesting that some people that have been playing this game for a while still believe what they hear from Z8 games and their employees.
