Why do br's have ping more then 200?

yes u may think this is a stupid question the simple answer you will say is that they live far away, but i live in new york which isnt too far from Toronto and if i run a ping test all the way past Brazil to Argentina or Russia i still get under 200 ping with very little jitter and no packet loss

so whats with the people with a 'steady' 200+ ping? its like they live halfway around the world in Malaysia or sumthing...

or z8games shouldn't let people with dial up play this game =.=

Because they are not smart enough to figure out that something is making their internet connection slow for example MSN.

Low quality systems, interference.

I ping CA servers for ~100, I get closer to 200 in-game.
I have a 100/10Mbit connection. I upload and download at 3 to and from Canada, and that with a pretty high quality structure in the western world.

Things will improve though, South America or at least Brazil is a strong developing country, they'll realize the flaws in their infrastructure and hopefully upgrade accordingly.

so its like their whole 'internet system'?
even if they buy a brand new new comp it wouldn't matter..well that sux

and as for running useless background applications i always thought that just affected ping spikes and fps :F

maybe internet is not cheap in the US or other countries i get charged 80$ a month for my internet and it has to do allot with the distance
