To split clips:
It cant be done like in sony, you can only drag the beginning or end of a clip to the part that you want to cut.
To add velocity :
Go to Layer --> Time --> Enable time remap. 2 keyframes will appear on the layer, drag the last keyframe to the right and at the same time drag the end of that layer to the right will create slowmo and opposite.
