Problem with shuting down my computer
Hello,
I do like CrossFire and I don't want to stop playing it. But I noticed a problem which is quite strange.
First off, I'm on Windows Vista (Service Pack 2, if this information is needed). Everything works fine with the Game itself, but every time I quit the game after playinf for a while, I cn't shut down my computer anymore. This happens only after playing CF. I need to remove the computer from the socket to get it off.
When I try to start up my computer again, everything works well, but sometimes my desktop appears without anything on it, so I have to restart my computer in save mode.
I really don't want to stop playing CF, but this error is quite problematic.
Thanks in advance.

There is nothing in the game that would prevent windows from shutting down. I've seen this problem on many computers before though. Its possible that there is some other background task that refuses to shut down. Try doing a thorough system scan with Malwarebytes Antimalware.

This program says everything is ok, while playing CF, before playing CF and after playing CF. Any other ideas how to solve this?
If it is, as you said, an error which appears more often, someone who is able to program that, should do so. -

Well,
As I already said, the problem appears when I try to shut down my computer after playing Cross Fire. There is no program running in the background, which might not allow shuting down the computer.
These are the forums of the game, so I thought I don't need to google this problem, because some of the developers can help me with that.
Defragmenting my disk doesn't work. That's what I did yesterday, but it has no effect. -
could be that there's too much CPU usage and its just making the computer lag and could be preventing you from shutting down wait maybe 10 - 15 min let it sit there to calm it down then try and shut it down.
oh yea and update when there's things on windows update.
