Uhmm, This Happens To me alot, and all i did was relog, and sometimes it works, when it doesnt, i tried rebooting, uninstall, reinstall, then it worked perfectly.

it could be connection problems... i get that first message all the time but i get in and the 2nd message only appears when you're on the server screen for too long... check to see if you have the right ports open?

There are a few things going on. I'm not for sure that these are the only things going on but these are the reasons for why these errors have come up for myself and my clan.

1. server selection has exceed the time limit

When I get this error, it's because I took too long to log into Crossfire once I pulled up the login screen. However, it's possible that your login information is taking too long to reach Crossfire due to your connection. I don't know how Crossfire operates on the inside so I can't give you a detailed description of what's happening, but it's highly likely that your connection is causing this problem.

2. connection to server. please wait. Step4.

This is your connection causing a delay in logging in. You might have relatively great internet connection but your firewall may be causing problems with the connection to Crossfire.

3. disconnected from server.

If this error occurs frequently, and you are on wireless, then I would check the firewell on your modem/router. There's a faq at the top of this forum that goes over how to (hopefully) fix the problem. I have gone through this faq and done everything myself. It does help the issue significantly, however, I still receive these errors from time to time. I believe it has everything to do with my internet connection because my brother will also receive this error at the same time I do when we play Crossfire - one of us is on wireless and the other is hooked up directly to the modem.

If I were you, I would go through the faq I mentioned above. Afterwards, I would check the cables from modem/router/computer - just make sure their secure and not coming out. The last thing I would do is call your provider and see if there's a way to improve this.
