listened to all above mentioned of course. K'naan obviously makes nice music, has nothing to do with the genres mentioned in the thread title. Atmosphere also another genre i think.
Problemaddicts are quite creative and come close.

They are all rap, broseph. I'm sorry you don't agree with fact. I didn't try to say they were old school rap in the first place. I said I prefer newer stuff and named what I meant.

P.S. "Rap" isn't a genre, it's a vocal style. It can be applied across many genres.

didn t know immortal technique. out of curiosity i started to listen to some current hiphop...to see what happened since i stopped following that genre in 2000 or so.

Old school? I used to work for Sugar Hill Records in Englewood, NJ. It was the first studio to release a rap album. The biggest hit out of the studio was Rapper's Delight by The Sugar Hill Gang:
