Simple discussion: Things to think about
Merriam-Webster's definition of the word Fun:
Why are there always threads and discussions that become so "serious" about the choice of weapons players use? I understand that the Competitive scene runs on its own rule set, which is geared specifically towards a competitive atmosphere. I get it, trust me.
I also understand that this is a Free-to-play game and that any weapon available is free to use without limitation provided the right amount of GP, ZP, or luck you have. Why do people have to conform to a certain standard in ordinary, public games? Of course I know about the the Scar Light/M12 issue of being overpowered and too easy to use. However, they are equally available and no where in any of Z8's rules does it state that you can't use them. So why not?
I have noticed in a more general sense, that the atmosphere in this community has become entirely too serious. As SilverSil pointed out, being able to have fun is part of the game. If you aren't having fun playing this game anymore, you shouldn't be playing. Life > Crossfire, 100% of the time. This should be about having fun and using the characters, weapons, and items the game has to offer. Unless you are here for strictly competition of course. In that case, you really shouldn't be complaining about things that happen in public games. Keep to your standards and everyone else will keep to theirs. There shouldn't be one standard that is considered the right one. It's a free game, get used to it. Have fun, enjoy the game a little. You might actually like it.

Communities complain when there is something wrong.
All I got to say.
You say that like the entire community complains about it, which they don't. So that is an invalid statement.Excludable wrote: »So, you're sticking up for Scar L and M12s?
If you want to read it that way, fine. However, I was making a statement that those weapons may not be suited for competitive play, thus being disallowed. But what does it matter in a public game? It doesn't. -
If there is a majority of something, you can refer to it as such.
However, referring to my original statements, the majority you speak of is many of the same people who participate in the competitive community. Therefore you can't refer to it as such. They have their standards, I have no problem with that. Those same standards don't have to be the case in regular game play. -

Not nearly. Since the competitive community has "black listed" such guns, the only place left to complain about them is public games. Even if a player is in the "Competitive community" clique, they can be part of the everyday pub players as well. Also plenty of people who don't do WOGL/PUGs/Scrims/etc. still come to the forums complaining. -

As they will do with the next weapon that comes out that appears to be easy-to-use and easily as effective. So what? It's a public game. Why does it matter? Answer that question with a valid, logical answer. If anyone could pick up an AK and kill just as easily with it as a SL, people would be complaining about an AK just as much. So why does it matter in a public game? -

It is a public game, this is why people complain. Nothing can be done from our end, so complain until something happens. IE: Nerf, higher req. for obtainment, removal. -

But my whole point was why complain? Relax, have fun. Sure you'll get killed by a Scar Light or M12 user. What's the big deal? Next round they will probably get killed by your weapon or some one else' weapon. I guess public games are serious business and your KDR matters. Relax and just have fun. That was the point. -
The entire reason for this topic to be brought up is the idiots who try to enforce WOGL rules in pubs.
Seriously, if you want to create a competitive pub, then make a room and xFire your friends. Otherwise, shut up. Public games are for everyone, no matter how they feel the game should be played. -

This is the condensed version of my "wall of text". Haha -

Good thread. Pubs are pubs are pubs. I might make snide comments and be quicker to f11 a vote on someone using a weapon I don't like, but unless they're either someone I know or someone talking trash, I usually don't mind. I pity them, they need the crutch. They need the no recoil, no skill guns to try and level the field against me.

As are the rest of us. No good in getting upset that it's not being done right this second. Patience is a virtue that 90% of this community doesn't have. Might as well make the best of what is here.
I think the M12s will get nerfed...but still gets kinda annoying. Guess we gotta suck it up for now. There's no way they can leave the M12s the way it is.
