I played on UK4 with 360 ping, Played UK1 with 330 ping
Played alpha - delta with 240 ping
Played on West Coast with 190 ping
AND i also played in chinese Server with 25 ping i went back for holidays.
I know exactly how i perform.
I can pretty much top score with 190 - 240 ping every game and always Highest KDR
in server room I played in.
KDR is simply the way how u play + skills
if i play on UK4, only thing i can do is play smart, camp behind and let
teammate tank for me, while i aim at head behind with ak.
but if i play on westcoast, 190 is enough to allow me play all sorts of tactics.
But no matter wat happen, when i encounter some very decent player with 10-40 ping.
I always die face to face, and deal 0 dmg.
this will not happen if i have 10-40 ping as well.
I played 10 years of FPS( was playing as a pro gamer for 1+ year, that
train 8+ hours a day, 5000 HS a day, running around learning maps, talking about
strats, watching demo, war with other clan).
I KNOW WAT PING DOES in CF and i have experienced all sorts of PING
in all sorts of games. CS quake3 CSonline CF etc.
you think u know more than me coz you played this game very long and figured out alot
of tricks and stuff. this is just an assumption.
when you are trying to telling others in an argumentative fashion,
and you make some assumptions, you automatically failed.
Its just like high rank thinks low rank hack coz if they got pwned by low rank.
High rank thinks that they should have more skills and always kill low ranks.

I admit that only thing i got is a software engineering degree and 10+
years of MMOrpg experience...I dont have 100% knowledge about network.
I would nvr go telling others, I am better than you, I know more than you etc.

HOW ABOUT YOU list the current game REG coding algorithm
and explain to everybody exactly how entire reg system work
between a CF server and 2-16 players inside rooms.
including all the scenarios, exceptions and error handling.
IF you can do that, then further arguments arent needed again.
I would be gladed to learn and everyone would be happy.

I am perfectly fine to play this game with all the guns i have,
enjoying it as much as i could. maybe we can have a couple of pug games
together on WC server, i only play on west coast, u can find me easily in there
mostly TD games, only 2 ch in westcoast anyway. -

@Kahlann, could you actually shed some insight into how the reg works on CF? I thought it would be standardized that everything happens as the server receives packets - your movements will be registered at the delay of your latency...isn't having movements dealt with on the client-side way too messy? -

i heard so, but i think its simply for the fact evre1 in the room got under 20 ping. the coding cf got was meant for low ping, not a high ping. -

I mean, I obviously don't know different styles of games. I obviously have never written any code or moded games. I certainly have never played any of these games without 10 or less ping. There is no way I have ever created and configured servers.
I base my argument on three attributes.
1. Knowledge of computers, networks and routing.
2. Knowledge of different computer languages.
3. Experience in the above two as well as in years of playing games.
Due to the fact that the code for CrossFire is not Open, it would be illegal for me to do so. That goes for you to. Therefor, you have to rule out, for both sides, a purely factual argument. So what comes next? You base it on similarities and experience.
Don't give me your garbage, "I was pro men, I swear" B.S. And if you've managed to finish your degree in software engineering, how is it you can't determine terrible code in a game where even 16 year old kids are able to? (although, most of them just repeat what they've read)
I won't pin it all on the code though, because I can't (read:don't want to) view it. There are more factors that could add to the problem, most has to do with the server, its configuration/specs and the bandwidth connected to it.
Basically it boils down to this: the game runs on poor code, an old engine (lithtech Jupiter... which version of it, idk) and possibly (and probably considering this is a free FPS) low tier servers with low rates. The server and its configuration could have a huge impact on the game, and I believe this to be one reason why the way the game play is bad.
This is what you get for a Free game.

The CN version feels smoother, movement wise. The models also look a little more stable and don't just glide across the screen. The movement feels as if there is more acceleration and deceleration to your movements, but this is all played with 300 ping. The fact that I was killing players with 300 ping is never a good sign. The main difference (I suspect) would be that nearly all players have under 80 ping, there is around 15 server LOCATIONS, each with 10+ servers. The quality of the servers and their setups are probably higher than ours to. I didn't experience any crashes, but i'm not sure if it happens to others. Still doesn't have driver supports for some razor mice (even though Razor is a sponsor), isn't optimized to run with more than one core and doesn't support any further aspect ratios and resolution.
Basically, its the same as ours with new weapons and items, a few *possible* tweaks to the mechanics and possibly higher quality servers. Oh, and very few high ping players. -

Depends what you mean by laggers. I would assume the OP meant 500+ pings and such, not normal/stable high-pingers.
I agree you're right that they're at a disadvantage. However, I do think you are completely wrong when you try to lecture us about NOT killing them. Whether they are lagging/ping-exploding or not, they are still trying to kill you; what gives you the idea that you shouldn't fight back? Just as they have a hard time landing hits on you, they can also just as easily kill you out of nowhere with "lagshots" depending on the timing.
However, I believe higher-stable-pingers are more advantaged than low-pingers, just mainly because they tank... like crazy sometimes... This is one of the reasons I will flame ingame if I come across people like this, and most usually respond "learn to aim". Well, let me tell you (or them) that how much more ****ing accurate can I be when I see my crosshair go red with every shot and see blood pouring out of them at a rate that would normally kill people effortlessly. /End to my small rant. -

From my simple understanding of how a game should work (CF might differ, I could be wrong), it happens on both ends. Say you have 50 ping, the opponent 250. The server is the "realtime". You get and send information 0.05ms late. Hence, the character models drawn on your screen should be slightly inaccurate. The opponent's will be 0.25ms off.However, I believe higher-stable-pingers are more advantaged than low-pingers, just mainly because they tank... like crazy sometimes...
Again, if my view's wrong, I'd really like to know the way reg works in this game. I've thought up what I think to be most logical, and I seriously don't see why a game would be coded any differently.
But say we screw all the technicalities. My opinion is that tanking in general is primarily caused by the difference in ping (a ridiculously low pinger WILL tank a high pinger, not just the other way around). More than 0 ping creates the possibility of tanking.
