My computer got fixed today

Im so happy

I have a question tho.
Will a Faster hard drive run CF Better?

The one that broke was 5200rpm
And the new one has 7200.

will it help?

It probably won't make a ton of difference. However, if information can be accessed faster, with a higher hard drive speed, then yes. You will experience a slight increase in FPS. But it won't be a lot. Every little bit helps though right?

A faster harddrive will make CF faster only if yhou have a bad RAM.

Cool cause if it goes up like 5-10fps.. thats great comparing to my usual 20-25fps

Actually that is based on your ram. The hard drive won't do anything except run smooth. No fps change should occur.

Random access memory is ram. It is used to open applications. Kthx

If for some reason your HD is processing stuff in the background, a faster one could cause less disruptions.

And how about PageFile?

offtopic:no disk drive can ever outpreform a decent solid-state hard drive.
one reason: spinning disks will never be as fast as electrical impulses.
ditch your disk drive and upgrade.

OnTopic: you might get faster loading times, but thats about it.

pagefile is sections of memory on your hard drive that the computer uses as if it were ram.

Games does not uses PageFile much.
It's almost useless tbh.
1/2 of it uses resources from windows.

I have to send mine to my uncle. It keeps going to Startup Repair. Hopefully he doesn't remove any files on it. I had a 30 page tutorial that I was about to post on CF Forums.

Say if the computer is slightly older (not too sure about OP's, but it was stated only 25 FPS was being obtained?) and does not have as much RAM, could the PageFile usage be more?

Well a faster HDD will make the loading faster, and that's pretty much it, since the computer will be able to access the .rez and other game files faster assuming you have enough RAM (1GB can make it). You can see your minimum FPS incresed, as you said it is 20-25, you MAY be able to get constant 23+. But no, you are not going to get significant FPS boosts. For that it's the GFX card that has the last word.
