DSR-1 or AWM

I prefer the AWM. The single zoom on the DSR-1 isn't helpful at super long range situations plus it's firing rate doesn't feel as fast. Even though you zoom out every time you shoot with the AWM, it feels faster. Plus the reload is quicker and less noise as well.

well, I dont need double zoom, I think I can still hit, as long as its one hit kill, and I dont need to aim for the head, like the m700. If it is one hit kill, and its supposedly faster, then I might get dsr-1. But if what you say is true smiley face, then I might end up getting awm.

The awm is a good weapon for Real sniping, even rushing if you can quickscope, the dsr-1, has the stay-on feature of the zoom, so you can get multiple targets at mid range much easier, because you don't lose the track of them and can keep shooting, it is basically a most camping sniper, i personally like the awm, because you can actually run and kill with it, test these weapons before buying them, it's a good preview of what are you buying, choose wisely, both are a little expensive =/

AWM is more of an all-purpose all-situation sniper. It has two zooms so you can snipe down the side in Prison or across the map in Black Widow. DSR has an annoying feature of staying scoped in and I can't quickscope as well with it.
The reload on the AWM is faster than the DSR, and both are one-hit kills.
Basically it comes down to are you sniping in smaller maps (Prison, Ship, Egypt, Mexico) or bigger ones (Eagle Eye, Black Widow, Ceyhan, Monaco)? The AWM does better at longrange, while the DSR has an advantage at closer. -
I can't get used to staying scoped in or the 1.5x zoom, so I stick with the AWM.
I can't think of a decent situation where you'd stay scoped in because a few guys will be rushing you in the same vicinity and not firing, so I take the main DSR feature out. -

not really.
its hard for close range scoped in shots because of the DSR's 1.5x zoom/
the AWM 1x zoom is easier for close ranged zoomed in shots or quick scopes.
the DSR can auto fire if you hold down the left mouse. its slow like the psg but useful.
if you mainly play TDM i suggest the DSR because its good for taking on multiple enemies.
AWM for SnD because its good at long range and quick scopes.
personally i like the dsr because i barely use the 2x zoom on the AWM
