well, when someone scores a goal in the world cup they dont shout GOAALLLL!!! like a fkn monster xD
No, instead they blow those annoying horn trumpet thingies that eventually make you deaf after the game. >..<;; I prefer the alternative. -
-
lawlz. they need a pokemon nade. when it lands a charzard pops out and starts spewing fire. xD
I would so spend ZP on that. XD Would totally make all the new players 'wtf?'. Reminds me of the SSB games. Would make things alot more fun too, that thing would be such a distraction. ^..^ -

Well, I can't very well say all BR's are such. But if they make up most of the community, well, hard to deny its alot of them then. But as the saying goes in CF. "If you can't beat em, kick em." -
Saying that is pretty hypocritical in this thread.
He was implying that EVERYONE should know it if they have been playing an FPS, and if you read on, anyone that doesn't know it is apparently trash it seems. I was merely stating that his 'hype' about it isn't as big as he tries to make it seem, else, everyone would know about it.
Besides, this thread isn't about various competitions, its about sportsmanship. The relevance of him even talking about comparing wogl to this cevo is completely unrelated to the subject at hand. -

No, it's not.
1) Scrims aren't matches. Whether or not the WORD is defined as such, the meaning isn't. They aren't and never will be treated as a match.
2) Because of this, he was comparing reaction and community in various competitive environments. When comparing to other games, he's going to reference their competitive community.
Also, WOGL doesn't broadcast to multiple versions of CrossFire, I have no idea why you think that =\ -

The fact of the matter is, be it a scrim, match or even a small game of tag on the street, sportsmanship should always be there. Be it this big time setup like Cevo is, I wouldn't go near it with a 200ft pole if sportsmanship was dead and contained people like zoom over there. I'd rather go with a 'smaller' scene with more respectable players. And I'm sure many would as well. I'd rather lose and have fun with those who have good sportsmanship, than win against a bunch of disrespectful ******s. Skill has no factor in that equation. A game doesn't have to be serious or important to have those values within.
Of course there is gonna be some communities better than others, compare all one likes. But the subject at hand is CF. How it's community has lost sportsmanship. Its all well and nice if the others are holding up fine there. God knows I've seen other games just as bad, but I'm not going into those.
EDIT: Sorry, I was thinking of the World E-Sports Masters displayed in the WOGL tourny. -

It lost it the moment it entered OBT. That's about it.
You can't manage a large community base without ******bags. One person in a pub isn't really making a statement either. -

lol, if it was just ONE person there wouldn't be so much hate in the community. I only showed one person, the one who stood out the most of course. But there's tons. Almost in every match. There was more, but there was also a few players I enjoyed being with. Why do people complain about the kick votes? For that reason. I went on CF china, and their community is FAR larger than ours, been there for over 4 months and I've seen the kick vote 5 times throughout being there. They have a better community and its even larger. Whereas here you can't even go in a room usually without seeing the vote screen at least one or twice if not more and F11 spams.
Its pretty sad when a game that's supposed to be close to home is worse than an almost exact duplicate halfway across the world and is more enjoyable community wise. -

1) How is this game supposed to be "close to home?"
2) The entire country's mentality is different. I wasn't referring to them because I thought that it was obvious that, due to the fact that we're in NA, they can't be compared. -

Servers are in Canada, so of course the game is close to home. (Save for the UK servers.)
So your saying that just because they live somewhere else doesn't mean they can't have the same attitude or just saying that most countries that aren't are generally unsportsmanlike? Personally I think anyone is quite capable of acting however they choose to be. Unless I should follow suit of most people on CF and set a macro to F11 and kick anyone better than me.
Heck, there's other versions of CF as well I should check out and prove this theory, there's CF Germany, CF Korea, and god knows how many others that they have hidden away. I'd bet a nickel that each and everyone one of those are still way better than our community. -

Normally the term "close to home" is used to represent something that hit the morals and environment you grew up with.
At least, that's how I've always seen it used.
And location DOES matter. Half way across the world is a HUGE mentality difference. With the conditioning that we normally get growing up here, you actually expect that to change within 5-10 years?
Also, speculation is bad, don't use it please. -

A term commonly used for such, yes. But not in this instance, sorry for the confusion.
Well so far it seems just the western part of the world seems to have that issue. NA, CA, SA and so on. I mean heck, one had to only look at one or two FIFA soccer games to see that 'hey, these guys are pretty sportsmanlike. even helping other players up. how nice.' Then turn to a simple game like CF and just shake your head. lol How much closer does one need to be? I'm sure alot of those along EU are good as well. Haven't played much in the UK servers to find out much. But the problem is, the change should have happened a long time ago. I doubt the countries here are so young with the population to know the word 'sportsmanship'. Its all about the mentality, and people here are too focused on the dog-eat-dog scenario to get that out of their heads or even bother trying. If there was a kick button IRL, everyone would be deported. lol. -
Lol, since this guy thinks he all so much better, let us show statistically how much of a troll this player really is.
Here is the link to not one, not two, but THREE threads about this poor nub wanting to be in a Wogl team after saying it was so 'weak'.
http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=80058
http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=71080
http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=29793
So tell me zoom, did you actually get in a team? Did you guys win? Or was the 'weak' competition too much for you to handle? While we're on that, get Marshall yet? Where's your golden statue saying 'zoom is the best player in CF'. You sir, are a joke.
Also his oh so superior mentality here:
http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=10123
Look at most of his threads and tell me how many good posts there are versus his regular trolling sessions. For someone that is supposedly 'known' they aren't for good reasons. And what does it matter versus one competitive scene to another? Both involve actual players against others, one just happens to be a bigger name. Whoop de doo. They all start somewhere, bet this 'CEVO' was bottom line at one point as well. So unless you start sporting medals here instead of trolling, you once again, put in pointless arguments.
Oh my jesus, this guy cares way too much about this thread lol. I mean seriously, digging up my old posts?
fyi, Yeah, I did find a team everytime I posted, but WOGL is kind of a waste of time, so I didn't bother staying to actually play.
Obviously CEVO was at a bottom point before, but now they have LANs, and professional teams playing everyday. I don't see CF EVER getting to that point.
And once again, stop caring so much? I don't need to flaunt my ring from CAL-Main. It was 2-3 years ago. And yeah, when I was actually playing, we did compete a little against Area-51, otherwise now known as LPK. Also against ampT, now known as LifeLine.
Haha. Go ahead and dig up more of my trolling posts. If you knew anything about me from that time, you'd know me and bruce1nr would do that just to make kids rage. Pretty funny stuff.
