Game News

We're on the verge of a new patch! This patch will bring the usual content updates that we've seen in the past as well as new features and fixes within Cross Fire.

Thankfully we'll be seeing some player profile updates with this patch. But we've run into some problems with an unstable client. Realizing that it would do more harm than good to push the patch out in its current form we have delayed it's release. We are working with the developers on a quick fix to this! Have no fear, patch will be here! (just a little later than we expected).

This also marks the first full month of Urban Warfare! Thanks for reading! We'll continue to update this weekly as we have some awesome community news coming in August. Eventually UW will move to a bi-weekly format. As always you can leave your feedback right here in this thread! Tell us what you think of these and what you want to see in future issues of Urban Warfare!

Competitive Updates

What do Cross Fire and High Definition have in common? Some would say not much, but we say pooh-on-you! WOGL is bridging the gap between these two opposites and bringing you High Definition Live Match Broadcasting of Cross Fire's top clans!

That's right folks, another WOGL HD Live Broadcast is happening TONIGHT at 8:30PM! Webnesday July 28th, only a few hours after your done reading this. Unless it takes you 3 hours to read this. Just don't miss it!

Paradox from the CFC wants to know if its a good idea to bring a Cross Fire only Ventrilo server online.

And we don't have a link yet, but we'll be releasing the WEM information for those who want to follow along. There are weapon and map restrictions so the competition will be furious while remaining fair for all people around the world!

Community Happenings

We brought back the Screenshot and Video contests during the AK47 Week not too long ago, and our Forum Regular ((STYX)) submitted this fantastic shot and ended up winning the competition! Congrats to STYX for setting up such a cool show and showing off the AK47 in all its forms!

Some Old OT forum threads have seem to come back in fashion. The Count thread is up to 506! And while we're on the subject of Old School, people have been posting lots of old memories of the game from those days. CF always goes up and down, and always around patch time we see people thinking back to the old days. But really, the game has come so much further and is so much better back then! Close communities are developed by people like you! Bring back those memories by getting together and playing!

Are you a top sniper? Throw down the gauntlet here and let your playing do the talking!

Roddybuckets wants to know why people hack? It's a tough subject, and one that no doubt brings out the trolls! People will have for no other reason than they can. But we're workin on it and better measures will be coming soon!

There is a real motion to get the forumers (someone needs to come up with a good name for all you regs!) playing CF in their own rooms. It's a place to join up with other good players, enjoy some Cross Fire time and generally have a great time with all the other people from the forum. Definitely check it out! They also have a vent server too! And don't forget that a lot of the forum regs visit our IRC channel, stop by and say hello!

Lastly, we haven't featured much from the Fan Works section of our site! Shad0wk1ll has so graciously put together a collage of his most prized kills. Have you had a chance to play with the mods yet? They're always in game so keep your eyes open!

This weeks featured website are the Latin Elite Gamers!

The Latin Elite Gamers were created with the objective to organize tournaments, bring together players from the Latin and Spanish Communities and keep Cross Fire growing and competitive for those players! It was formed by a friendly team of players who are adamant against Cheating and Hacking and are working to build their own Anti-Cheat system for their in-house tournaments!

Their community is a great place for Spanish speaking CF Gamers and we highly recommend that you check it out!
