Spraying: XM8
Bursting: Scar Light
Mid Range While Moving: Depends therefor, Both.

I get more headshots with scar l
then again.. XM8 has higher boxshot damage, or penetration.
XM8 gets random HS's unless u burst.
I usually chest kill, or burst to get a kill.
XM8 is a lil better for short range.
SL is a lil better for long Range
There both great for mid.

Um, I don't really care about the spray pattern. I've used both guns for quite a few months. Both of them are awesome if you know how to use it. Except that the SCAR Light gets abused every minute of the day. The XM8 does around 70% damage through walls, I believe. Close range? Its called HeadLine, buddies. You have your crosshair aimed at the head, and you shoot with your reflexes. XM8 is better in close range though. It feels more stable and smooth. The SCAR Light feels all over the place. If you wanna pub, I DON'T suggest you use the SCAR L. Your gonna get kicked 50% of the time. I would just use the SCAR with your clan mates or your friends. Where you could joke around. The XM8 can kill in 1 second flat in bursting. I don't know why. It's where you aim, I'm not talking about the head. Sometimes it listens to you. If you can't kill your enemy by 3 seconds in bursting long range, you should stop, retreat, and gtfo of there. Scar is the same pattern of bursting forever, if you don't overdo it. It all depends on how you play. There both close in many ways, such as the accuracy, damage, weight, recoil, and reload speed. But they are different in many ways also, which I'm sure you noticed. I favor the XM8 over the two, but if I'm failing, I use the SCAR to redeem myself.

Well, they are similar in question of power and accuracy, but the scar L has a lower recoil, wich can make it's bursts go up to 4~5 shots in good conditions, and it's reload is one of the quickest ones in CFNA, making it perfect for crowd control and for pin-pointing at long ranges.
The Xm8 has a slower RoF, but it's spray pattern does use it's RoF in it's advantage, the first 15 rounds of the mag go pretty much only up when you do 3-round bursts, and the little high recoil makes it's bullets go from the line of the waist to the line of the head, so if you can aim a little you can go headhunting, but it's reload kills it a little, not too fast, not too slow, but if both players are spraying with scar l and xm8, the scar l dude can reload faster, e has 0.2~0.4 seconds to spray at you before you finish your reload.

At the overall it depends on the kind of map you re playing on, if the map has many obstacles, like SnD maps and EsM the Xm8 uses it's wallbang power to get over the Scar L, but, if the maps are long and require a crowd control, the scar L makes it up with it's RoF, reload time and pin point accuracy, so, the SCAR L is an all-round rifle, but it does not perform well on maps with lots of crates/walls/obstacles, while the xm8 doesn't have the same crowd control hability of the scar l, it compensates by tactical using in walls/boxes/obstacles and for quick kills (usually 3 rounds are enough, since the 3th one aways goes to the head) while the scar l takes usualy 4~5 shots to down someone (if you are aiming to the waist, since it's recoil does not allow it's bullets go up to the enemy's head)
