To everyone regarding fL
Before I say anything, everyone can go ahead and note that I founded oL (That is to say, came up with the idea and drummed up support for it)
Now I'm going to adress a few points here and hopefully clear some air.
First off, the question that gets tossed around a lot: What exactly is [oL]?
Its really simple. We're a group of people who, while not on the same team in game, are all pretty cool with each other. We're intelligent enough, known both in game and out for various reasons, and have more or less "made our friendship official"
oL is a club. Its not a troll alliance, its not some future scrim team, nor clan, or whatever. Its just a group of people who share some things in common and could tolerate being in the same room with each other without resorting to violence, kind of like being [onLan]. We dont have rules for our members to follow, we dont have weekly meetings, newsletters, a thread on the forum, an in game clan, nothing. If you act the way you acted before you got in, you'll be fine. If you act like a fool ass, then you'll be kicked.
As for where the actual idea came from, thats simple as well. As an avid CS fan/player (I've most likely spent more time spectating matches and watching shoutcasts then I have playing at a competitive level) I always used to note the tags as the end of a players name. I could never figure out what they were, but once I did understand it turned out that I really liked the concept. Clubs like [1g] , [st], [CA], etc were an awesome concept and something that I thought I could bring to CF. Sadly, since the restrictions on name length and the fact that it costs money to change your name make it kind of hard for everyone to fit a club tag into their name, an xfire group and the locations bar on the forum had to do.
Now to actually get into the post Hi made, keep in mind that I've been gone since my last post in the fL thread. I havnt had contact with anyone, and it would appear that the thread has gone where I can't see it.
I didn't take offense at all to this fL group coming up. I was happy to see that a concept that I brought to CF was taking hold and another club was forming. I didn't take them for being "copycat" at all. Aside from some fast and furious xfire messages with some oL members, I didn't have an issue at all.
So, I guess I will cut right into this and point out some mistakes:
Bashing of oL was kind of stupid now that I've explained how we operate. We do not act as a group in doing things. Every member is allowed to post as they see fit. This isn't mini-mod boot camp, nor is it something serious. We have fun, we get along, and we're damn good at doing it.
A public thread leads to a lot of drama and stupid crap. I used to be the biggest forum h0e in history but I never made a thread about oL. The people involved just added it to their location tab and continued on like everything was just the same, because in fact it was. The publicity generated itself.
Having a lot of rules like "always be helpful" leads to a lot of drama. There are people on this forum who have to abide by those kinds of rules. They're called Moderators.
Imagine the Three Musketers (excuse my spelling) without the title. They're an example of a club right there. They stick together and take care of business because they want to. They just came up with a cool name to boot. That (imo) is what a club is about.
Choice of name was kind of...ambitious. None of you are legends, just as none of us are. I think what made people cry most of all was the whole [fL] thing. There are a lot of words out there besides ones that start with an 'L'. Everyone had a good laugh there.
I'm not going to talk about your members. I know there aren't a lot of shining stars on the forum anymore. Its your club, your rules.

would of been more interesting if fL lasted longer publicly, if only more groups arrived sooner than later. -
Thanks for the support. I'm remaking fL. I sent a PM to Saidin regarding a few members harassing me after the matter was settled. I'm remaking it with a different name, and possibly different members. For now, I'll just do what I've been doing best for the past few months, doing fL thing without telling anyone about it.
I respect oL, and I'm sorry if I offended any members. -
Oh i get it other ol members starte to qq when a diffrent group started to form
kinda like with vanilla ice?
Nope.
But it's nice to see tax dollars going towards teaching our children reading comprehension skills.
^ Not trolling, just making a semi-witty, semi-uncalled for joke at 7:44 in the morning.
... I'm going to bed now -_- -
We're coming with a new name. Hope we don't get flame again. Also, Bruce. I thank you for being such a supportive person.
Awesomes.
If I could just join

GJ Bruce.
I recently saw a lot of peoples thinkin that [oL] is a "trolling club".
But it's not.
Well put. -

By all means, if you have people and you have passion or a cause or whatever, then go with it. People will always find a way to talk trash but you shouldn't let it bother you. Your friends are your friends. Not everyone likes Denxi around here, but I don't care. He is my broseph. :>It was a great idea to bring those kind of groups into crossfire, makes the community stronger and theres more fun included. Hopefully there are more groups to come.
That was the whooooooole point. The club isn't for scrimming or for any kind of competition or for following certain rules. Its just about a little community within a community.
I honestly hope more clubs pop up. I think its pretty cool. I mean, the Brazilians kinda do it already with the adding of the
on the end of their name. I've seen [PT] as well. Gives everyone a bit of an idenity.
Malte[gr] anybody? -

nah, then all the other greeks would have it and it wouldnt be special for Malte then. The problem with Ireland is its ROI (Republic Of Ireland),but then that looks like i'm Romanian >.> -
SameWell put Bruce. Although most people in [oL] I can't put up with.
They will be called that if they continue to do so...LobsterMts wrote: »Awesomes.

Cause you know, the IRA was pretty fking awesome.
We are doing UoF, Union of Forumers, somebody suggested it, and I like it.
Sorry for the capital L thing... Hope you accept it. Just wanted to be like the kool kids. -
Hi changed it to UoF.
The tag is weirdly ugly tbh. But it makes sense.
Lolol
Not everyone can have an original idea like oL.
I wanted TSAOSDF, The Super Allegiance of Super Dooper Forumers, but I woke up and smelt the coffee.I'm down.
Just let me know when it's up.
Aero's down, DDoTt is still deciding, but I think he'll be down, you're down. Once we get it all set up, we'll recruit another 10 "helpers".
Also, Gratz to Bruce, 3rd member to Royal Vizier. I hope I'll be the first to 6k posts. Find out which it is.
