Lag Spike/Lost Connection?

OK, so every 10-20 minutes i get this ENORMOUS lag spike and/or i lose connection and it only last like 5-10 seconds. But everytime im playing a game thats enough to kick me out of the game. Ever since i downloaded this program MODEM BOOSTER its messed up my computer. I deleted it, i scanned with my AVAST antivirus found a couple problems but none that harmful and i scanned my computer with Spybot SND and found a couple problems and fixed em. I have a wireless connection and its been fine but like i said when i download MODEM BOOSTER it messed it up. I have DSL and Windows XP. Please help!

    Avast and Spybot are not the best out there but w/e.

    I would recommend you to reinstall Windows XP, but make a back up of all your files (including CF), if you do that, you would be playing CF again in less than 1.5 hours (that's the time that it took me to reinstall Win XP, drivers,CF,ventrilo,Firefox,Power ISO, and some other programs)

    Sounds like a rootkit tbh. Scan with this and post the log and I'll tell you if I see anything that shouldn't be there.
