Fraps and Playclaw

Everytime I load up both fraps and playclaw, not at the same time obviously, and crossfire, I fail to see the fps counter. It is turned on, I have done my own trouble shooting and am in the process of "getting" the latest version of fraps. My question is if anyone else has had this type of problem and if they figured it out.
