Slow loading
So I just arrived in AZ a few days ago, will be here for about three weeks, so I downloaded CF on this computer to pass my time here. Upon loading cf, It takes me 3-4 tries, because by the time it lets me click and type my password, the given time is already up. That being said, once I finally get in, choose a server, channel, then match, and press join game, my computer poops on me. Screen goes black, then approx. three minutes later, it has the background image and the loading bar, from there it takes about two minutes, but the weird thing is, once I'm in game there is absolutely no lag. That's only about 1/2 the problem. Once the match is over, and it supposed to show the end score, screen goes black, then a tiny black image in the top left, finally it comes to the middle, with the scores showing no names no kills no deaths. Finally a box pops up and says "loading game results; please wait" upon waiting, it shows players name and scores, and then immediately puts me in the game lobby. By that time everyone has left and I get the "moved to lobby for inactivity" popup, and and I click okay, but as soon as that goes away, the popup saying "you are now the host, start the game" popup shows, and makes me stay in the room. Now heres the worst of it all, when I click start, or storage, or even the back button to go to the lobby, it freezes and I can't do anything. I have waited as much as ten minutes before, and nothing, and I am forced to open task manager to close it. Hopefully someone has the time to read this and respond with a solution
Thanks for your time, I know its long and boring.

What operating system are you using? Could you also provide these specs:
-Processor power:
-Ram:
-Free Space on OS drive:
-Video Card:
These seem to be main factors for slow loading times and such. I've tested it with many computers and these factors are the ones that affect it the most. Also, it would be wise to use programs like Ccleaner and your system's Disk Defragmenter and Disk Cleaner to maintain top performance. -
Processor: AMD Sempron Processor 3200+
RAM: 448 MB
Freespace: 79.4 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE
Hope this helps.
EDIT: Ran CCleaner, currently running Piriform Defragmenter, followed by Disk Cleaner.
Fair good computer that should run crossfire without any real problems. Space is enough to not have much strain on the computer where it shouldn't overwork the computer to even run crossfire. hopefully after running the programs will be enough to speed up your loading times.
As for your crash in the storage and lobby, perhaps its resolution related? Try making the game rez the same as your desktop, and take off window mode. Please also note when this problem started occurring and any other specifics. also, it has been noted Windows Vista and 7 have a slower loading time and usually have the 'non-responsive' look to them. However are indeed still running, despite a bigger delay. -
I'm running XP on this computer. 93% fragmented, I will edit with results.
Defrag Complete;
Analysis Results:
-694 Fragmented Files (1.5 GB)
-6,426 Total Fragments
Current State:
-13 Fragmented Files (15.4 MB)
-49 Total Fragments
Now running Disk Cleanup, wish me luck. -

You should run the Disk Check to make sure there's no anymore problems on your hard drive.
